Thumbs up Spydie friends are great!

I never cease to be amazed at how great the folks at the Spyderco forum can be.
This morning I got up earlier than usual because I had alot on my mind. Yesterday, I went to a staffing agency to line up work and they think they have a position for me . Strangely, this brings two items of concerns to think about. The first is I still am very stiff in the mornings from my surgery two months ago. I am not sure if I can handle the physical strain of my old job. I actually strained myself last week while moving some boxes around at my house. At least at home I could stop what I was doing and recoup. The second reason is money is running out and I need to get back to some type of work.

The major problem is while on leave I can keep my insurance going, which of course I need. If I want to get another job, I need to use my current job of 7+ years as a reference. They will probably need to take me from active status and I do not see how I can afford to pay for COBRA insurance.

What does this all have to do with why Spydie friends are so great you may ask...?

When I logged onto the forum this morning, I had a p.m. from Stonyman wishing me the best and hope that I was recovering well.

Now this alone has not helped completly, but is is strenthening.

Today, I plan on alot of thinking to keep my status active in order to keep my insurance going, while arranging to get more money flowing.

I really appreciate all of the prayers from all at Spyderco.

    Thanks,

    Michael

    Michael,

The folks here are wonderful. I agree. Things will work out for you. Trust in the Lord, talk to Him daily, and read His word. It works.

    God Bless,
    David

I will immediate say "DITTO" to what David has just said. Also in this super stress filled world we are living in we all need some kind of a support system. I have personally only met 4 of the Forum guys in person but some of them that I communicate with regularly via e-mail, phone call and PM are great quality people who have been very good and supportive friends to me. I have never seen any Forum or any group of people quite like the folks here on the Spyderco Forum. I have never needed put anyone on my "ignore list" and I have never seen it necessary to totally avoid any particular Forum member. I am sure that wouldn't be the case in a lot of other settings. We seem to police ourselves very well for as big of a crowd as we are and other than an occasional minor pothole I can't recall anything being a major negative. LONG LIVE THE SPYDERCO FORUM
Long Live the SPYDEREDGE Spyderco Hawkbills RULE!!

Thumbs up Our God is a mighty God

Just this morning I posted a thread about what I was going to do about my job. Here it is only 4-1/2 hours later and things are better.

I called into my company to inform them I doubted I could return to full capacity next week, but needed to receive income. Don't you know that within the hour my H.R. person had talked to the President, who in turn talked to a member of the Board, who in turn called me on the phone with my General Manager.

It turns out that today is our dispatchers last day and they need someone to replace his position temporarily . Talk about perfect timing. Now, this position will pay less , but it will keep my benefits active and money coming in.
They did explain that this is temporary and might only last 6-8weeks. They hoped this might help us both out. They also, said there would be no hard feelings if I decided I wanted to leave any way at any time. They offered this to me (get this) because I was too much of an asset to lose.

Man, I am so happy at this. I gues my collection will not have to shrink anymore...

    Best to all,

    Michael

Man that's great to hear. Hey those are 6-8 weeks that you may not have had so I would use all of them.

You never know, in 2 months you may feel much better.

Thumbs up Cobra isn't always that expensive!!

The right job is always right around the corner when you are ready for it!!!

But don't dis cobra yet.... all the plans are not expensive...some are, some aren't. And think of all those people that don't even have that option to keep insurance at all!

Keep knowing that you are blessed! And don't forget it!!!!!
