    Kitchen Knives

Spyderco or not, what would you ladies and gents recommend as the best quality kitchen knives?

Looking for a chef's knife, a boning knife, a general serrated knife, and a paring knife.

This dealer sells Spyderco and about 2 dozen other top brands of kitchen knives. I have dealt with them and they are super to deal with. www.knifemerchant.com They pretty much specialize in kitchen & culinary knives in general. Top notch, good service and prices are OK.

But for the record>> most of my kitchen knive are Spyderco. Imagine that
Long Live the SPYDEREDGE Spyderco Hawkbills RULE!!

For kitchen use I prefer Kai/Kershaw Shun classic or Wusthof Grand Prix.

For someone on a tight budget, what would be the best knife for the money? That site is nice JD, but expensive. But I guess that's what quality costs?

Cho, I was thinking about Kershaw actually.

Anyone know of any good sets, perhaps?

If on a budget, I'd think a Spydie Santoku and a K05 utility should handle all tasks quite well.

I have 2 santukos now and like them alot. The handles are very comfortable and the blade is flat ground so it cuts like crazy.
The sharper they are the less they hurt when you cut yourself.
