Follow the mushin, but pay it no heed.
Hello Zen!
I have no answer for you as I am in the same situation. Just bought a new one and need to transfer A LOT of stuff over. My brother in law is supposed to help us figure it out, we bought some sort of cable(ethernet I think?) to do the data transfer. I am not the most computer saavy person here, so I am looking forward to what others have to say.
P.S. As far as bookmarks go, will they not transfer with your ISP? I have AOL which saved all my bookmarks.

Hey Zen,
Go to My Computer -> C: Local Drive -> Documents and Settings -> Your Username -> Favorites
Then just copy that folder and move it over to your new PC. That will bring all your bookmarks over.
Hope this helps.

It depends on what browser you are using. If you are using Internet Exploder, the above way is the way to go. If you are using Firefox, go to Bookmarks >> Manage Bookmarks... Then go to File >> Export... Save them somewhere like My Documents and then move 'em on over. Once they are on the new computer, follow the previous instructions, but substitute Import... for Export... I won't go into any other browsers now, but I hope this helps. If you are interested in copying all of your settings over, check out the Files and Settings Transfer Wizard. Start >> Programs >> Accessories >> System Tools >> Files and Settings Transfer Wizard. And if you decide to go this route, if you are switching from a 32-bit copy of Windows to 64-bit copy, there is a patch you will need to install from Microsoft, unless it's already installed.
Just What Rock Said, I did that when I went to my new job. just copied them onto a memory stick and pasted them to my new comp.

cool Rock, I figured it was simple but you know it is hard to use the XP search function if you don't know what words to enter so I thought asking here would be simpler.Originally Posted by pjrocco

(where is the vomit icon?) No offense bro, I just don't care for programs that totally overtake my computer and overcharge me for it.
