Talking "Damn fine effort" on linear midterm

heheh... best mark I've gotten in this course...

Spent just shy of 2 weeks studying for the linear test(after getting a 68 overall in linear 1), memorized 2 pages of formulas, went through about 20 pages of circuits(I'd make some up, run the numbers and get him to see if it was done right), and ran myself into the ground.... but I did it. 2hrs of sleep the night before, pot of expresso in the morning, and the 1hr test after lunch took 35min... for 88%.

That was tuesday this week, finally got em back today. He was dissapointed in the class average, appaled at a few marks, but was impressed with a couple of us. Stopped me on the way out after class and commented that a little hard work goes a long way and it was a damn fine effort on my part to pull it off.

What a way to end the week eh? 3rd highest mark in the class and congratulated by the teacher for it(highest were a 95, 90, 88, and 3 85s, 4 ppl failed[pass is 60], average was 71.

S-L-E-E-P... ? whats that? nothing wrong with my 4hrs for a good night. It's when I pull 20hrs or less over a full week that I get cranky Not a problem running on 15hrs sleep over 168hrs, just can't do math in my head as fast(or even add 5+5 some days without a calc).

Craig: can't get msn working on the folks computer, heading down to mine... don't go anywhere in the next 5min

    Congrats VW.

A little hard work, huh. Actually, I think it's more like a little hard work, many times. Can't just do it once a little. Does pay off though. Nice to hear things at school are looking up.

raven: not just the coffee, also went through a 1/2 bottle of 200mg caffine pills in the last 6 months. Consider that 6 months ago I could match up a red to a red or tell you in there was power to a wire and I'm not an hour or so from completing a power supply and being able to explain WHY it works as it does, I might have actually learned something.

ghostrider: a little hard work, every single fvcking day... thwere is no way that they cover in class what the book covers. I read ahead in class so I have an idea what will be covered the next few hours and I'm not copmpletely lost.
As long as I can keep up passing on the first try for another 2 months(april 21st) I can rub THAT in my sisters face too.

here's hoping my spelling is even close to correct, I just spent the last 3hrs drinking free beer. went through the last paragraphes a 2nd time...

I just graduated last year, and had the same experience about reading ahead. However, I actually had one class where I actually did better when I didn’t read the book. It wasn’t my favorite class, to say the least. OTH, some classes if you don’t keep up the reading, you might as well drop.

last night was my hard earned free beer night...

about a month ago, we won a food bank contest... great wall of peanut butter.
our group put in 130 of the total 300 jars, 2nd place was 70 jars.

free beer from 8-9, got free coke and played pool till the wristband for the 10-11 stretch came into effect... spent $5 last night, total. 8 beer, 3 coke, 6 beer... no puking. 3 cup of pasta and sauce, litre of OJ before going to bed last night.
One of the advantages to living at home is that it doesn't matter what time I call, I've got a free taxi coming my way. Even if the folks can't come for me themselves, they leave cash inside the front door for me to pay for a taxi.

this next friday is motley crue night, got free tickets for the 10-11 stretch of that night too.
