As much as this left handed nut would love to see a full ambi version of the Military, I don't think that could be done without either giving up one of its unique attractions, its incredible lightness or pushing the price into the stratosphere. Sad fact is that front locks and ball locks are inherently heavier than liner locks. A CF monocoque handled front lock "might" be able to keep the weight in check, but the cost would be extreme. So, while it would still be too right handed for my tastes, I really think the compression lock is the only one that I think would allow the Military to retain both its "airweight" character and its current pricetag.

Would having a tip-up/tip-down option also be too much to hope for?

Although I also really like the Ball Lock, my vote is also for the compression lock. It works great and is very strong. I would really be interested in what that "in house" lock is all about!!

    I'd vote for compression.

But, given Sal's post, I don't think it will be, unless there's going to be a new way to release the compression lock that will make it ambi.

You know this is kinda funny. I was playing with my CF Millie (which I DO love) and I was thinking how much it will benefit from a compression lock (minimal and nested).

A front lock made from titanium to keep the weight down would be cool.

Ti frame lock with a G-10 front scale. Worker#9 hit the nail on the head. If not then a ball lock would be sweet.

    Thumbs up Ball lock Bonanza!

I'm a big fan of the ball lock, I think it would be interesting to see this in more models, the Para included. My second vote goes for the nested compression, you gotta love it!

If you want to play the game for absolute coolness, I'd say a integral Ti compression lock on one side and a G-10 scale on the other. For the real world a nested compression lock like on the Para is fine with me and hard to beat.
