So the 18 then ? Hope its not this year or I'm gonna be picking one up second hand and overpriced .
Maybe I could get a forum member to get one to put away kinda wish it was a SS though from what I've read Cpm 4v is tough above resistance.
I can't due to our extra on MT get as many as I'd like so I've said the 18 will be one I have to get personal reasons .
    Thanks for the reply .

Sal, is there a status update you can give regarding a Spyderco Sifu model? Thanks!

I'd be interested to hear what's coming of this model. I think the heavy-duty compression lock (used in the Szabo Folder) would be a strong candidate for the lock, especially since REKAT's original rolling lock is likely not available to be used.

I recently found a "New in the Tube" REKAT SIFU on EBAY. Paid a pretty penny for it but it was one I wanted for the collection. I have two REKATs. The other is a Savant which has proven a very handy and very reliable daily carry folder.

I'm hopeful Spyderco will indeed refine its version of the Sifu, to include going to the compression lock system and bring it out in 2014. This is a serious large frame folder for H2H carry and application and was very well thought out / designed by Bob Taylor & Company "back in the day".

A Spyderco version would re-introduce the Sifu successfully into today's marketplace and without the "baggage" REKAT in its last days seemed to attract and never get fully rid of.

As a long time proponent of the Spyderco Civilian going back when it was still an underground choice of professionals - I'd rank a Spyderco Sifu alongside the Civilian as a truly serious attack/counter attack folding knife...in trained hands, of course.

    Hi Greg,

Bob sent a Sifu to me some time ago. I've been trying to "Spyderize" it.

Looks like a new collaboration between Spyderco and PITS might be in the works:

I thought it was a comp frame lock at first glance, but it seems to be a frame-mounted slipjoit correct?

Don't know if this is a bombshell or not, but I hadn't heard of the plans for the 110V Mule Team before... maybe a cherry bomb at least if this has already been announced I'll certainly snap one up !!

Edit: Here's a poll where S110V won for most wanted mule: http://www.spyderco.com/forums/poll....do=showresults

I don't believe in numerology, but I couldn't help noticing that exactly 110 people voted

Not a Sal quote but still pretty big news regarding the Sage 3 from Michael J:

As such, if you're a fan of the Bolt Action Lock (I am), life is still very good.

A concept model of the PITS collaboration was shown at the last Amsterdam Meet. I loved it, it would be a really new direction for the slipit line.
