FRIZ, I don't own that model but have handled it once. If I remember correctly, I found the liner a bit thin, and overall finish was not great.
For that money ($110), I would go for a Spyderco Manix.
If you want a Strider, get a real one. Will cost you a lot more, but will give you the real thing.
    Good luck,
    Ted

A friend of mine has one. I liked it, fit and finish was good. I liked the feel and texturing of the G-10. It's not what you would call ergonomic, but it did appeal to me. That said, I think there are other knifes with a more versatile blade shape out there.

All the BUCK/Striders I have held were good. I don't think you can go wrong there. Check out the Manix like TED said

Depends which one you're looking at:
There are tanto bladed versions and spear-pointed versions.

I've handled various examples, and friends who own them advise me that they're quality, durable pieces.

I just realized I mixed up the Buck/Strider Mini and the Buck/Strider Tarani regarding the thin liner and finish.
Anyway, for $110 I still think the Manix is the better choice.

    Hi Ted:

    Manix blade length 3 3/4"

    Buck Mini-Strider blade length 3"

We have a ¾” problem hear. And the Mini-Manix (blade length 3 1/8") is also no good.

    FRIZ

I have the Buck/Strider 887SBT Police Advocate and if the Mini Strider is even close to to the Police Version, it's well made. If I had found one of those instead of the Police, I probably would have bought it instead. I may use it more..... I had always wanted to try one of the Buck/Striders in any event. I haven't beat mine up that much, a little chiselling in a door jam for a dead bolt, digging in the yard/garden on weeds, cutting some dead branches from my elm tree in the back yard to just get a feel for using a combo edge (I'm a PE type ) - it hasn't blinked. I have a couple of other Buck folders in my collection and one of the things that sort of concerned me was that on my Alpha Folding Hunter and Adrenalin, the liner was about half way over, maybe a tick more. Mind you, it hasn't moved, but....... On the Police Advocate, it was pretty well flush to the tang, where I would expect it. The detent on mine was a little sticky, but it's getting better with more use. I don't know if the Mini-Strider has the same thickness of blade, but the Police Advocate has a very thick blade. It cuts cardboard OK, but not an Endura or Delica or Paramilitary, either. It gets the job done, though. I would think that the Mini-Strider would be more suited to EDC than my Police would. Mine is one of the heaviest in my collection. One the other side of this, this one is one that is in my daypack - kind of comforting to have one this tough there. Funny thing about this Police, though, is that it kind of begs to get beat up. With the exception of some prying, I would not/have not put my Paramilitary, CRKT/Crawford Falcon thru what I've done with the Police Advocate so far. It's not that they couldn't.....

I guess you speak of legal limit? I think the Lil'T is one of those cases were no LEO would hold the last 1/16 in against you unless you have pissed him/her of already for something else. It also depends from where you measure since the hilt is strongly curved. If you measure from the hilt along the spine to the tip, is is less than 3 in. If you measure from the hilt along the blade to the tip it is more than 3 in. The Lil'T would be clearly my choice here.
