Yeah, its amazing how a fob can make a small knife feel much bigger in the hand by adding control, and making the opening easier. The Meakowlark in one of my pics belongs to a young man who will occasionally ask me to sharpen it for him. I put that fob on it on one such occasion without telling him anything about it or its purpose. About a week later he was hooked. He said it makes it easier to find it on his pocket. Of course, he wears those baggy pants that are so popular these days...

Hold the ends of each separate piece together then hold them side by side and you'll see that one extends 3" past the other. That's where you start the knot. Check www.boondoggleman.com for step by step pics on different knots, he uses some plastic strips, but it's the same for the paracord.
Have you read this yet? Hope it helps.

Maybe some pics will help. I've been making alot of these so you can see where it's wearing on my fingers. Just remember to keep the shorter length flat as you hold it so it doesn't get twisted. Once you've got it tightened up, you can make your knots straight across for a square lanyard, or across at an angle for the round. Hope this helps.

Stormdrane do you have a source for the woodland camo paracord? I've Googled to death with no luck. On Fox news tonight they showed gas in your neck of the country at over $5.00/gal. WOW

I actually got gas for $2.79/gl this afternoon, but saw a couple of stations at $3.25 and it's only going to go up. Some stations like at wally world, had lines.

Thanks. I'll try when I get some more paracord in. I ordered some 450 instead of 550 in 13 different colors from a company in 50' rolls so when I get some in I'll try a couple.

BTW: Gas down here(S. Florida) is still around $2.80 for REG. But some stations are charging as much as $5.64 for REG.!

I stoped by a Army surplus store today and scored another 50' of Paracord in Black and OD Green to play with before my order comes in next week sometime. I figured out how to start and do the knot(Square) and I'm finishing it off as isand burning the ends to make them permanite. First one I tied I made the loop way too big so I'm gona have to work on that. I'll post a pic later on.

Thanks for all the help you guys have given me.

Pretty impressive. Nice choice of colors. I have a line on the black/with orange slashes. I managed to get the tan camo from Wellington, so that makes two now. What stitch is that?

The stitch....hhuummm.Well it should have been like the one stormdrain posted but it turned out to be a round signet.Maybe because I did not take out the inner strands.

Good job! They all look nice. The more you make them, the easier it gets.

Once you've got the initial knot, go straight across with your loose ends to make it square each time. When making the round, you're going across at an angle each time. You can combine the two when making a lanyard, like five knots square, five round, five square... Personally, I prefer the round, I like the texture and feel it gives me a better grip than the smooth sides of the square, but I guess it could just be an aesthetic thing.
