Thanks. I found the beads on ebay. Do a search for 'skull beads' and you'll get a few hits. There are different types, but the ones I use have a hole big enough to fit the paracord thru, some of the other beads you can't tell from the photos whether or not it would work. The prices vary by seller and shipping costs, but you can probably get 50 beads for $5 or $6.

I attempted my first lanyard today...nothing fancy...just one cool knot on the end of my red frn ladybug from mixed red and black para-cord, the second one made for my SS Jester with mixed black and white para-cord, I made with one knot near the lanyard hole, then braided the para-cord made the same knot over again then took the two ends and burned them together...wish I could post a pic... they came out pretty cool...Doc

Yeah, I couldn't believe how nice a picture it took when it caught the light.

I like the stuff you gave me. It's got a nice utilitarian look to it. Not so flashy as to garner unwanted attention, but stylish in it's own right. The green matches well with black handles, as well as the yellow.

I think I’m starting to collect cordage. Sometimes I take them out like I do knives. I’ll start thinking “I wonder if this cord will match this knife?“ or “How well will a FOB work on this handle?“ So far though, I haven’t put a FOB on anything else. I tried a FOB on my Delica today, and didn’t care much for it. That leaves out my Salt 1 also, however I’ll give it a try again some day.

Have you used the orange yet? Be interesting to see how that matches up with something’s. You could put it on a black handle and have a Halloween knife.

ive used the orange on one knife so far w/ great result. its not a spyderco though so i didnt include it in my picture. i just made a lanyard for my pacific salt, its about 4.5" w/ a lanyard knot at the end. nothing fancy, but i think this knife will accompany me to TNKFK as a worker. maybe not, the native III may just handle it all. great knife, glad you turned me out to it. in my opinion the OD cord matches the black frn perfectly. i will be getting some tan cord soon as well and will give it a go. till then its OD all the way. best color i think.

When making lanyards, it doesn't hurt to have paracord in a variety of colors and a few accessories.

I just added a lanyard to the Cara Cara, but I don't know if it will stay. I put a knife lanyard knot in enough cord to loop around my wrist. I like it, but that winds up being a lot of cord.

Try it with a smaller loop, so only 3 or 4 fingers fit in it to help 'tighten' your grip on your Spydie without it being too long and getting in the way.

I only use lanyards for pocket carry spydies. I had a little paracord lying around from the supply that came with my R.J. Martin Quickening. A perfect match for my Cricket. If I ever stumble across some cord small enough, and the right color, I'd love to supply my Kiwis and Burgundy Micarat Jester with lanyards.

You can remove the inner strands of paracord when making a lanyard and it'll be easier to fit thru smaller lanyard holes. You can also use a piece of string or dental floss to pull a loop of cord thru the hole if it seems too tight at first.
