    Best sharpening angle for S30V?

I keep a 30 degree angle on my S30V Millie, mainly because I love the exreme sharpness at this angle. However, I am curious if the S30V can chip easily, or be brittle, just as the CPM440V. If this is the case, I'd rather sharpen at the 40 degree for a little tougher edge.

For those of you who are more familiar with S30V, which would be the best sharpening angle?

    Thanks.

I've not heard of, or experienced, S30V chipping at 30 degrees. However, I have seen VG-10 chip when set at 30 degrees. I try to keep an edge on my delica (VG-10) of around 27 degrees and have had no problems.

30 degrees with S30V should present no problems.

I sharpen my S30V Millie to 30 degrees and was pleased to find that it was actually profiled to 30 when I go it from the factory. I haven't had any problems with it.

Ours takes, and holds the 30 degree sharpening angle, or 15 degree edge better then any other steel! RKBA!
