    I only ever use the corners and never had any problems. I find that if you're using the flats, unless you're perfectly flat you're using the corners anyway...

    I would be surprised if grinding was enough to introduce blade play - I would be worried to use the knife it did! Just make sure it's nice and clean with no grit inside before using it. :D
