G10 is awesome feeling in the hand. FRN is a fine handle material. The two knives in FRCP I've had I did not care for the feel.

I'd like to see some liner less G10 knives. I've never handled one...

Love the Ambitious. It has a good amount of belly and the grip of a normal size knife. You need one if you don't have one.

I've considered getting a Cat but don't like the blade shape as much.

This and other similar threads got me interested in giving SE another go. I snagged a used Tenacious SE. I sharpened it using a makeshift sharp maker out of a triangular piece of wood with sandpaper...

Imagine a Manix 2 with an axis/arc lock though. For some reason the CBBL ends up with a lot more spring tension than the competition. I operate my Manix 2's CBBL with thumb and finger, my SOG...

Wow, just one Spydie is tough. There are some great inexpensive models (Ambitious!) that could keep you above the Spyderco poverty line.

Yeah, my wife puts up with there being more kitchen knives in the drawer than is strictly necessary. That's a pretty good deal IMHO, I'm not going to get greedy.

This won't really help but if you...

I don't care where spyderco makes them but I too am fascinated by smaller knives. I recently caught and released a Boker Nano and even though it has ergonomics that would never have made it out of...

I carried a GIN-1 SE Native for nearly a decade without sharpening it. The S30V version I have hasn't seen much use but honestly it's not something to worry about, SE S30V will cut about as long as...

As far as construction, fit, and finish I think they're great. I've handled two. The Tenacious I didn't care for so much -- the blade shape I find awkward and there's something about the ergonomics...

It could be a factory mistake that slipped by QA. At any rate, the knockoff people have better things to do than replicating translucent blue plastic scales.

You're looking at this wrong. You can't find a native 5, so you'll just have to buy something else. And then a month later when a native 5 pops up, well, you were looking for one so you can't pass...
