    Next knife in Elmax?

    Sal,

Are there any more knives with Elmax in the works?

A Manix 2 XL (w/navy blue G-10 scales) would be awesome, but I'll buy a Manix 2, Para 2, Native 5, Milli, or just about anything else,...

Yes, I have done it successfully. The thinner G-10 scales make the wider Superhawk nicer to carry, and I also prefer the CF on the Superleaf.

I can say for certain that it is a distributor exclusive commissioned by Blue Ridge Knives. It will be available to any dealer who does business with them.

G-10 would involve retooling, and, IMO, is unlikely to happen. A different color FRN and ZDP-189 would be relatively easy to do. Burgundy is not normally my first choice, but I think it might suit...

Funny, I was just playing with my Cento 4, and thinking of starting a thread proposing a sprint run in ZDP-189.

4 mm vs. 3 mm, any real advantage?

Some have expressed disappointment that the Manix 2 XL's blade is only 3 mm thick instead of 4 mm, like the original C95. I'm actually pleased. IME, 3 mm offers advantages in slicing and ease of...

Sal, any plans for more knives in Elmax?

I am looking forward to the LionSpy, but I would also like to see this steel in a Para 2, Manix 2, Milli, Native 5, or other FFG model.

It is a distributor exclusive. It will have an S35VN blade. Many dealers do business with this particular distributor, so you shouldn't have any trouble finding one who will get some.

Nothing wrong with VG-10, I'd just like to try Elmax in an FFG :spyder: with excellent ergonomics. It seems to offer a great balance of all the qualities I value in a knife steel.

    Elmax blade for my Superleaf?

I'm wondering if there is anyone with a Spyderhole license who could make an Elmax blade for my Superleaf? Has anyone had a blade made in a different steel for one of their :spyder:s?

    Fine Edge Retention

There's a lot of talk here about how long various steels will hold a working edge. However, there doesn't seem to be any direct correlation between working edge retention, and fine edge retention....
