thank you, Sir!
Fluted TI Military. S90V blade swap.
Anodized Gold. Flame colored pocket clip, standoffs, Lanyard tube, and screws. Screws were up graded to T-8.
Had to swap pivot, stop pin, and pivot screws to...
That was my 1st ever Spyderco. I do carry it some, but in a horizontal sheath at 11:00 O'Clock on my belt.
I have so many, and buy sell almost everyday, but this one has been in my possession since...
Two day swag.
Spyderco Clipitools. Scissors and bottle opener.
Spyderco Shempp Rock.
BM Impel. Not new, but replaced black G-10 scales with Red Coral to classy up, a little.
Thank you Sir!!
Here's a Blue Bento Box exclusive with an S90V blade I got today. The blade gets swapped into my Gold Fluted Ti project.
You can see it here.
Oh HELL yeah.
(when I go);)
We can conceal carry at my church, too.
And I occasionally do.
And that is why I did it. A classy Sunday-Go-To-Meeting knife that is deadly serious.
This is the other TI Military I got in last week. Modded it with a Cru-Wear blade, orange peeled the hardware,...
I wish they made a Superblue blade for the Military, I have a blade swap project going.
Maybe an M4, M390, S90V, or a S110V
Received this Saturday.
I said to myself "that looks like African Blackwood".
After I researched it, it IS African Blackwood.
I have the Wusthof Ikons in Blackwood, and have 5-6 sets of blackwood scales, including two...
know of anyone who has a carbonizing machine? I hate to buy one to do 2-3 projects.
If anyone knows, please PM me.
I did what the youTube vid of TuffThumbz had shown. I use a coarse wire wheel, then a light polish.
You can see it here.
Here are a couple more teasers on my Gold Fluted TI mod. Still waiting for...
Just finished up a TI Military and Cru-Wear blade swap.
Scales, back spacer, and clip are orange peeled. Lock face has been Cabonized. TI clip has been drilled and tapped for tip up carry.
I really like Bloodwood.
Here is one I did in 2004 with a section of deep red bloodwood. the tail section is RedHeart, much lighter in color.
I have the Kiwi with that scale theme. My Sunday Go To Meeting knife.
Thank you. And now that you mentioned it, I had a 67 Fairlane GTA that color!
OUCH! And the finger tips are the worst place to get cut. A lot of nerve endings there, and you have to use them for everything.
I took mine apart, but I have dyed 20-30 in the past 4-5 years, and several were not dis-assembled. Had NO stains on the Stainless parts. I haven't dyed a carbon steeled knife, though. And wasn't...
Not really a procedure. It seems like every time I do this, it's different.
Take this Spyderco Gray G-10. On the Caly 3.5 Sprint, I used the Orange Rit (POWDER) and it came out very similar to this...
Thank you! Had to go through two colors to get the OD. And these are well done, simmered about an hour total.
I finally got a TI Military to complete my Cru-Wear blade swap.
This one has been orange peeled, a tip up clip drilled and tapped (Ti clip also orange peeled), the lock face Carbidized. I orange...
There's always wear, of two parts moving against each other. And carbidizing won't stop that.
I agree that IF ALL THINGS are equal, you would be correct.
However, the materials that are mating are...
I may have misread your post. Did you mean how does Carbidizing work in general?
If so, the process is just adding a layer of Tungston Carbide to the material in question. This makes the area harder...
It's very smooth. Yet the lock holds rock solid.
I did not do the Carbidizing, but was going to have it done, regardless. I got lucky and found this one already carbidized. Getting someone else to...
Afraid to carry it, tho, LOL.
The Militarys will be users, not safe queens. The OD Green Military is in my pocket, right now.
