could someone please tell me what sanreanmu has to do with spyderco, did they make the tenacious line?

http://sanrenmu.com/en/foldingknives/series/all.php

Their knives are made of 8Cr13MoV , i was searching for a new spyderco knife and a seller was selling SRM knives, http://www.trademe.co.nz/Sports/Camping-outdoors/Tools-knives-compasses/Pocket-knives/auction-363399758.htm

he says "srm also manufacture knives for top knife company spyderco. "

This all leads me on to another subject.

Theres a page on the site for multitools, http://sanrenmu.com/en/accessories/catalog/all.php

I got from a store called super cheap auto an "SCA (super cheap auto) Multi tool 12 in 1" that looks like this

is it just me or does this look nearly the same as the SRM/ganzo ranger with a few differences.

Build quality is great

Anyone who knows some background would be a lot of help

Thanks

I also heard that Spyderco makes some of their knives at the Sanrenmu facility, which explains the higher overall quality of the Sanrenmu knives over the typical Chinese ones.
I had a couple those and honestly I was impressed. Decent materials, great fit and finish and quite an affordable price. However, I can't consider them but a poor substitute for a genuine Spyderco. Even if it's built in the same factory, a Spyderco is... different. :)

I'm pretty sure that Sal confirmed that they chose SRM to make the Tenacious series of knives. To me this shows that SRM are a cut above the usual Chinese manufacturers but I still don't have a lot of time for their knives. Sure the materials, fit & finish are good enough but the designs do nothing for me. Design is where Spyderco excel and it will take a while for companies like SRM to understand the higher-end of the knife market, IMO. At the moment their own lines pander mainly to the cheapo end of the market where people are less discriminating about design.
