Seems like Business as usual for the Big Island. The first few waves have already hit. I am sitting right now at the Kona Airport waiting to go to Oahu. Was listening to an Oahu radio station and sounds like they are overly careful. Hopefully traffic is not too bad there when I get there.

Sounds like a few hundred lost thier lives in Japan. Hopefully everything goes smoothly on the cleanup. Heard the news report of over 50 aftershocks up to magnitude 6 which is still huge.

Thanks man. I just tried to make it to work for 5:30 but everything is blocked off. I can't leave Wailuku. Everyone is OK here though at least. I just talked to my sister on Big Island and things seem OK.

I hope the people in Japan get on as well as possible. Definately a tradgedy. Does anyone know if they have a FEMA or something equivalent (or maybe better?) I don't know anything about Japan. In the early 40s we were killing each other and hated each other for years after that I'm sure. Now, I've had several Japanese friends and never even thought about the past except for the occasional joke about our ancestors killing each other. This world and the people in it never cease to amaze. With the increase in technology, travel, etc. the world is getting smaller so we people better learn to get along. I hope so.

Anyway, thoughts to the Japanese victims of the wave and their families.
