View Full Version : Apologies: The last word should be sorry

Without going into much detail I would like to apologize to a few folks in the past I have been harsh with. I won't name them out of respect and have probably bothered more than I know of.

Behavior over the Internet is hard to control at times and more difficult to regulate. It's easier to joke, tease, or tear down someone when you can't see his or her face. Frankly it's bullying even if what said is minimal to the response felt. Perception of the written word is harder to guarantee without vocal tone or body mannerisms.

From the guy who always has something to say about everything: Please cut your losses early and move past differences. Say "sorry" without following it with a back-handed comment or subtle dig.

You can't win an argument and look like a victor. All that will happen is a few people will get hurt and everyone will look silly for participating.

Right or wrong we are all equal members of this forum. It is a great honor. We have a hobby in common despite the countless differences. Just assume the other person meant well because they have to do the same to you.

My most sincere and humble apologies to everyone.

You have never offended me, so I will let it slide this time. :D

I've been around message boards enough to know that people react differently on them. Everyone can learn a lot by thinking how they would react if they were in someone else's shoes.

I should have a censor that lives between the keyboard and my fingertips,...

Nice apology--best way to find a good man is to find someone who notices when he's wrong, who apologies, and who tries not to do it again.

Man, it's a wonder my back space button still works with all the type-deleting i do trying to keep from sticking my foot in my mouth sometimes. It can be hard to get your point across over the internet sometimes without sounding like an ass and its even harder to express a joking sarcastic attitude that in person might get a laugh but can go over the wrong way online. It never helps when there is an endless supply of people who don't really care to think about what they type because anyone can be an internet hard ass and get away with it.

Well it's about time, Blerv. I mean, I've been dealing with your rudeness for so long and ....

/end sarcasm :p

I think people take these forums too seriously. Yes, they should be areas for learning and understanding but even in schools/universities people disagree, have fights and have feelings hurt. It's just that on the internet, you can't get in a bully's face and give him a dose of his own medicine. That said, I don't think you've been a "forum bully," Blerv but I respect the fact that you apologize for coming off as such.

I wish more people did that and just moved on.

I will go ahead and post what I did in the other thread-

Blerv I appreciate that, and I now after speaking with Snubnose I now realize I also wasent without fault, and could of reacted better to the situation. Ill move on from this, and I will also apologize to anyone I may of offended. I have no ill feelings toward Blerv, and overall agreed with what you said about selling threads. Hopefully we will get along in the future. :) You can go ahead do whatever with this thread that you feel is nessesary.

This is the singularity of the 'net.

I'm glad to be here. :spyder:
