Is this a sprint, limited release, or full production piece?

+1 here...good thing at least I was able to get one of the red G-10 sprint ones.
I saw this for preorder at knifeworks, and to order on the SFO site

Same here. I am out of toy funds till the new year. A lot of great new knives are coming out very fast and we still have a few more before the end of the year.

Ouch, I just managed to track down a red one, and now this.
It may have to wait a while.
$219.99 for G10 and VG-10??? Ouch

Very nice! It's lighter and thinner than the original. They basically took the handle/scales of the Caly 3/3.5 and fit them to the Persian. The width, pivot, liners etc. are the same.

Who has this knife for sale?
Almost everyone. NGK, KW, and KC are listing it as available now.
It is severely tempting me.

Recieved mine in the mail day after thanksgiving. It's been in my pocket ever since, especially once I fitted the zip-tie mod to it. Great knife. Came razor sharp, excellent for opening boxes and cutting, feels very comfortable clipped to my pocket, and looks beautiful. The handles are very nice, since they have the radiused edges and mild G-10. I don't own any of the original persians, but have read that the G-10 on them is very smooth. That's not the case for the Persian 2, which does provide some traction. The only thing I noticed is that after break-in, it had a minute amount of side to side play. Quickly took care of that, but worth noting considering how much everyone had been talking about Schemp's super tight tolerances.

The only way to get rid of the side to side play on mine would be to make the pivote so tight that it doesn't open and close well.

I didn't quite get rid of it all together, but to the point that it only shows when you apply pressure to the ends. Now it takes a decent ammount of wrist action to open via thumb hole, but the zip-tie still opens it easily.

I just mine today :D a C83GP2. I just want to say excellent work to Mr. Ed Schempp! This is a beautiful knife that is going to get a lot of fondling ;) I love it already.
Awesomely sharp out of the box, great lockup with no movement at all. The pivot seems a bit tight & it's hard to deploy fast but I am sure a bit of time & lube will fix that.
The yellow spyderco emblem on the pocket clip is a very nice touch. lovely.
