Great,
Thank you Kristi, It is really only 3.1 oz. Weight was never concern for me, but this is nice. Cannot wait for mine.

Great news, I was thinking that other models would have come out before this. It's too bad I just bought a UKPK FRN i will have to wait and save to score me one of those.

My knife gets here Monday. Every since I found out the Para 2 isn't serrated this has been the knife I have been waiting for. I am glad I held out.

I have had one for exactly one week now. Really great knife. It was a bit gritty when I got it but its now super smooth, just like my other Caly's. Only problem is now I can't decide which is my favorite Spyderco. Caly 3 or 3.5? The "3" will still see a lot of carry because technically I'm not supposed to have a knife larger than 3.0", but nobody seems to know or care.

At home recouping from surgery today. Went better than expected but will be off my feet for most of the fall. Well in walks one of the kids my Caly 3.5 came in. Way better than I expected. Or maybe it is the pain meds. ;) Nah it is really a great knife. Run don't walk to get one of these. Fantastic knife. Will be my office knife. That is when I get back to the office.

I thought that there was a really good chance that the Caly3.5 was going to be "less" of a knife for me compared to my Caly3 which has worked so well for the kind of work I do. I'd originally considered getting a backup for my Caly3 at least until I found out that the model I wanted had been discontinued. Looking around for an alternative option, since I prefer VG10 to ZDP and G10 to carbon fiber, I was surprised to see that an updated version of the Caly3, the 3.5 Caly, would become available by the end of the year with just those features. As you can imagine, I jumped on the first one I could lay my hands on when it became available and having received it I'd like to put it's qualities into perspective as compared to the Caly3. Over the last two years I've gotten used to the Caly3 and thought it was the perfect knife so I was pleasantly surprised at how much better the Caly 3.5 has worked out for my daily chores. That extra 1/2" of reach is really useful and the belly of the blade is now in the perfect place for fine cutting. Kudos to the artisans at Spyderco for making the perfect knife even more perfect!
