CoPilot, used to be allowed on commercial airlines so the name, CO9BKP is the last of the CoPilots and it was produced from a sprint run of 1,200 in 2006. The scales are black almite coated aluminum and the blade steel is VG-10. It tips the scales at a skinny 1.7 ounces thanks to the aluminum handle. Five inches overall with a two inch blade.
I've had my eyes on this beauty for several months. After seeing BWPerdue's terrific thread on his first run CoPilot I made a purchasing decision. It was NIB from, a real peach, Betty Budil (Double Eagle) @ the Portland, OR Expo show today.
Betty said that she was captured, to her surprise, in the 45 min. SHOT show youtube video of the Spyderco booth and is now a celebrity! Thank you Spyderco crew for treating her so well and I am happy that she is so happy! She told me that she had a ball with you in Las Vegas couldn't compliment the Spyderco crew enough for making her feel a welcome part of the Spyderco family.

Wonderful knife! I've been carrying a Sprint Run CoPilot for over a year now and it has held up beautifully. It's a classic design and the use of VG-10 blade steel just makes it all the better.
Enjoy yours and carry it!

Very nice, I gotta get me one of them! I was hoping you were going to say you got it from an online retailer who had a bunch leftover...

You and I could be on a poster with a caption reading: "Never met a Spyderco that they didn't want to own."
You have good taste. The CoPilot is such a gem on all fronts.

Thank you kindly for your enthusiasm with this model. There wouldn't have been a sprint run without it. It is a terrific knife. I like it more every time I look at it.

Thank you for your kind words BWPerdue. Your "first run" thread on the CoPilot really turned up the buying heat for me and I want to thank you for that. I couldn't be more tickled with the knife.

Thank you kindly DM11. This CoPilot is so good looking that it attracts photography. It is the kind of knife that would make an Armani tux look better when clipped onto it.

It's funny, because I didn't even know about the Co-Pilot until I saw it for sale, and realized it was what I was looking for!

Mine came in the small gray box: 4" x 2" x 1"
According to SpiWiki, http://www.spydiewiki.com/index.php?title=C09_CoPilot, the tufram coated aluminum CO9SATU was serrated only. While the ATS-55 steel blade CO9, stainless handle, came with PE & SE.
I'm looking forward to your pics.

On man, I love Co-Pilots!
Got my first one in August 1988 at Plaza Cutlery's old store in Palm Desert, CA. I have several varaitions, but I think I want to get a few more.
I hope they do another run. I gave my first one to a friend, and he is trying to track it down for me so I can have it back.
I would LOVE A G-10, or FRN of this in bright colors.
As for tho old Plaza Cutlerty location, well, it is a GAP for kid's. Yeah...A GAP! Now I have to drive 120 miles to the South Coast plaza.

This is correct. The Tufram model only came is SE. You will find examples with the blades stamped either G-2 Stainless or GIN-1 stainless (same blade steel, but just different blade stamp varieties).
The ATS-55 CoPilots were the final production run (which ended early in 2002) and were available in both PE and SE.
