I think Kristi would likely have moved that thread over here if she weren't at SHOT. Needless to say, several folks on here have made their opinion known. AFAIK, this one is designed to be about as close as possible to a copy without legally falling in that category. An imitator of the Endura, priced similarly, made in China means that a> you can get a Byrd for less with similar materials or b> you could get a 4th Gen Endura for almost the same price with a superior steel, made in Seki City Japan (much more expensive to manufacture in Seki) and optimized over many years by the folks who brought you the opening hole, clipped carry knives and serrations. I don't think that most folks on here would be inclined to purchase a SOGZilla, but there are lots of folks here who do enjoy using some of their other knives and tools.

Shiny footprints, but just wanted to mention that the cut in the hole makes the blade weak, too bad someone like SOG CEO, long time knife designer doesnt know that.
Yep, that definitely belongs here.

I'm sure the knife "points instinctually and feels familiar" especially for anybody who has ever handled an Endura. For those people familiar with the CEO's history, their knives do have a toy like quality to them.:D
I assumed this was a Chinese knock off, ripping off SOG and Spyderco. I was shocked this was literally a SOG knife. Is it suppose to be a Spyderco tribute? I just can't see SOG doing this.

SOG Delica and Endura? Is it official, legal? I can't believe it .

So that's where my lost endura went! Somebody cut the hole and scratched SOG on the blade.

I'd have to personally say that while it is a blatant copy, some guys really dig SOG's pocket clip placement, and it can be an advantage to have your knife buried in pocket like that.
looks like a crap knife. the hole concept seems like a good copy with a slight legal difference which is ok in my eyes for users.
the handle and clip look like straight up crap and thats not even getting down to the nitty gritty of how the knife evens functions
like i said it looks like crap, once a biter always a 2nd runner up on perfection!

i like how they're attempting to capitalize off of the "hogzilla" phenomena!

Exactly. I of course am a big Spyderco fan and owner of many of which I love them all. But I am also a fan of SOG and collect them as well. I ordered both SOGzilla sizes because I was intriqued and quite frankly both were under $30 ($25 and $28 I believe I paid). I have so say the small one is my daily carry quite often specifically because of the clip and how thin it is. I work in an office setting and unfortunitely my Spydies tend peer out of my pocket a bit to much. Basically the same steel as my Tenacious. But then again there are not many knives I don't like....lol.
As for being a copy, of course it is. If you have a popular design you should expect to be copied, just look at the auto industry. Immitation is the best form of flattery and all that mumbo jumbo....
