View Full Version : Rob's latest loot
Since everyone seems to have a picture thread, I felt I just had to start one too. There's no escape from peer pressure :D
So here's what I accumulated over the last couple of months...

Yep, own picture threads are en vogue. Your pictures are excellent  Give me some more and I will rate your thread with five stars, that's a good deal, isn't it :D
More pics?!? I thought that these were already quite many for a start. Anyway, how about the rest of my Dragonflys and Caly Jr.'s?

ps> where can i find a carbon fiber dragonfly?
Rob,
Amazing pictures. Why did it take you that long to start you thread??
I was waiting for these pictures for a while. The first time I visited your web site about two years ago and I stunned by beauty of your pictures and 2006 Calendar. They are just perfect. I love 2008 Calendar as well.
Thank you very much for sharing. Great eye candy.:)
please, keep them coming.
ps> where can i find a carbon fiber dragonfly?
I was very lucky to find mine on eBay just recently, and even more lucky that the price didn't went up too far. Some kind of early Christmas lucky strike :) In fact I was looking a long time to find this one.
Wow, you sure do have a lot of dragonflys.
No, not that many. Just five and I am still missing the current FRN and SS version with the bug on the blade ;) But they are indeed catching up with my Caly Jr.'s (6 at the moment with 2 more to find - not counting the Caly III and the UKPK which are somehow of the same family)
Why did it take you that long to start you thread?? (...) I love 2008 Calendar as well.
I always thought duplicating content is not necessary but as I said, everyone seems to have a picture thread here so I wanted to play too  I'm glad you enjoy the calendar! Hopefully we can talk Joyce into making a 2009 Spyderco calendar just as Sal suggested here (http://www.spyderco.com/forums/showthread.php?t=30827&highlight=calendar).
Cheers, Rob
Ok, to round things off a couple of pics of my Crickets. Just 3 at the moment so there are still some to hunt:

Rob,
I am a big fan of your pictures for quite a while.
I am really glad you finally posted them here in the Gallery.
As much as I like them all, I think SS C52 is the best.
And I just have to mention that the most original backgrounds I’ve ever seen are on two Calypso Jr. pictures from 2004 (circuit board) and 2005 (twisted pasta).
Well deserved five stars!
Regards,
WhyNot.
Thanks! :D The circuit board is the mainboard of my old PC that broke down shortly before I got this knife. I took it apart completely to save some things for my new computer and just thought it might look interesting on a picture. The pasta was also more an improvised solution as I didn't have anything at hand that I could have used as a background. Then I spotted the 5 kg bag of pasta in the kitchen that we've bout just the day before so I tried it out  The strange thing is that it somehow looks fitting with the golden bug on the blade and the yellow tint of the pasta although that was totally unintended in the first place.

I must say those are some great pictures. The lighting and backgrounds are wonderful. Also, having the name in the bottom left corner is a nice touch.

Rob,
You almost tricked me with D'Allara’s picture. At first I thought there is another cool background. Then I saw a reflection in ball-lock.
Nice pictures. Tactfully done. Looking for more:)

Actually I am quickly running out of paper that I can use for backgrounds so I tried something else. Shooting a knife on a piece of paper is a lot easier: No leafs of fibers that get in the way all the time...
And again a couple of new ones:
C28P with VG-10 blade...
http://spyderbug.com/data/knives/c28p_vg10.jpg
C28PBK with AUS-8 blade and bug on the blade...
http://spyderbug.com/data/knives/c28pbk_bug.jpg
This makes 8 different Dragonfly models in my collection and at least 2 more will come this year....

Nice collection. The SS Caly is very nice and your CF Dragonfly is stunning. I am thinking that I may have to get my rear in gear and make a picture thread, if only so I have a reference as to how many and what knives I own.
