What a crock. "Even one fatality is one too many." Ha! They should all be wired to explode after 60 seconds of continuous use (especially if you are driving at the time).

That would certainly curtail the greenhouse effect, now
wouldn't it!

How 'bout 30 seconds?

One too many have died eating food.
One too many have died having sex.
One too many have died of old age.

Why doesn't someone put on a cape, and go save the world?

I can see a 911 call taking more than 30 seconds to get all the information across, since they don't get an address automatically when you call on a cell phone. That's why I figured 60 seconds. ;)

That story turned out to be false after police investigation. It was a cover-up after auto accident.

I don't know how valid this is, but someone mentioned it in the comments.

I don't see how folks can rack up the phone bills they do... my sister managed to put 1860min on her cell last month... I put 69min on mine. Usually my monthly bill has 30-40min of talk time on it. Cell usually dies because it's on standby and slowly running out of juice.... not because my 30second phone calls kill it.

On the topic of the thread though... gotta wonder if his wife gave him a "special" phone (few ounces of c4) and called him at work ;) Chances on a cell battery doing the damage listed are somewhere between damn near impossible and 9999billion:1.

Yeah,

If I'm reading the story correctly, I'm a bit curious to know how getting hit with an excavator could set your phone on fire though.

Heck, that's happened to me six or seven times. I usually just get a phone upgrade after getting hit.

seems like the cellphones like to die all of a sudden after 1 year.

I thought we had better tech than that...

Planned obsolescence. If it breaks, you have to buy a new one.

I was like, it broke, I have warranty and you can't fix it, you won't give me a new one, then, what am I suppose to do?

they tell me to buy a new one.

I say, that doesn't make sense, I should quit and go to a different company.

suddenly they found out that I was eligible for a free new phone, after we
had checked at two different places.

Point is, I put this thread up just for a "theater of the absurd" kinda
thing. Wouldn't OBL like one as a gift? BANG! Problem solved.

Death to terrorists.

If I had an LG phone, I might want to reconsider 'pocket carry'.

Turns out, a co-worker confessed to killing him.

My kingdom for a link!

Sorry, don't have that.:o

How 'bout turning the cell phone on, then throwing it like
a hand grenade? Or sell'em to al qaeda or OBL?

Our problems would soon be over!
