Whoooopee!

today was a glorius day! my phone rang at around 8 in the morning, and woke me, and it was the ups delivery guy. he said he had a package to me and wondered where it would be best to deliver it. colness i thought, and got him to deliver it to me at work. so, when i started at 10 o`clock, the delivery guy was there five minutes later and my day was saved:)
i work at a hardware store, in the wood department, so it was a good place to start testing my brand new PE D4, and damn, i loved it from the start!

i love the wheigt of it, i love the feel of it, i love the shape of it, i siply love it! (makes my mutch bigger, and somehow lighter, Goddard spydie seem as a cheep shot of a knife)

and for the byrd, a meadowlark, PE frn, i must say im impressed, the over all impression and build quality of it compares to the D4. its not gonna be my last byrd for shure! havent been using this as mutch yet, but time wil come!

and now for a mandatory family portrait

three of many to come :D

Damn i love spyderco!

I have to agree with you there bro, I love the byrds. I haven't seen any other knife brand give as much quality to a low-priced knife. Everyone I've gifted has been appreciated and used, not something I can say with any other knife (but I guess I haven't gifted too many).

As for the D4, I've not used one, but the more I read about them, the more I'm tempted to buy one!

Congratulations on your new purchases, but I can't help but grimace every time I see someone post pictures of spydies stuck in a block of wood like that...

cobrajoe: yeah, the byrds are allot of bang for the buck!

as for comparison, i would say that the meadowlark is the delica of byrds, very simlar sise, construktion and wheight, just the "smal" things that are different

ruxton: well, they all are knifes that are gonne be used hard and allot. and the knifes arnt that long into the wood, pluss its a rather soft wood..

Good to hear! I've done far worse to some of my knives, just not when they are brand new and factory sharp. ;)

Congrats Curly! I think you've got one of the finest Byrds that I've laid my hands on! both the FRN Meadowlark and FRN Cara Cara are Outstanding products! Along with their G10 counterparts (and the SS Robin), these knives are my favorite Byrds to date! Love the Grippy texture of the FRN handles....awesome traction (especially when compared to the textured aluminum handles of the Raven / Crow).....these FRN Byrds flew Way above my expectations and will impress even the pickiest Spyderco fan out there!
Oh yeah, glad you're loving the Delica4 too, and nice photos!
