If you consider that there have been an average of 160,000 troops in the
Iraq theater of operations during the last 22 months, that gives a firearm
death rate of 60 per 100,000.

The rate in Washington D.C. is 80.6 per 100,000. That means that you are
25% more likely to be shot and killed in our Nation's Capitol, which has
some of the strictest gun control laws in the nation, than you are in
Iraq.

Conclusion: We should immediately pull out of Washington, D.C.....Doc

It would be just ducky if we held the politicians working, and/or living in that town to the same standards as the average citizen. Meaning Niether they, nor thier personal body guards, Secret Service, state police escorts, nor any one else charged with thier protection would be allowed any weaponry the average, citizen isn't allowed.

I wonder if that might have an affect on crime, or the laws they pass.

I always thought the seat of our government should be Sante Fe.

After it's moved, DC can cleanse itself. Purge if you will!

Dr. Snubnose-

Thanks for pointing this out! Shows ya how well gun control works..
I like ghostrider's idea! Maybe the NRA will pick up on this.

Than again if we weren't in Iraq we wouldn't have those numbers.

Conclusion: We should immediately pull out of Washington, D.C.....Doc (no a bad idea) maybe we can just turn it over to the U.N.

First:

Ken, "Thankyou for you're support".(Bartle's & James)

Second:

As a suggestion. Stop calling it "gun control". Doing so is a missuse of the term.( "Gun control" is one inch at 100 yards. ) The term in it's common usage is nothing more than Orwellian (sp?) newspeak. Try calling it what it truly is: "Unconstitutional Arms Infringement". The term, as commonly used, is a good example of how right Orwell was when he wrote about the changing language of "Newspeak" being used to manipulate the truth.

Try it, and see if it catches on.

I hope you don't think I was trying to correct you. It was only a suggestion, and meant for any who might be interested. Much like an FYI. Not a rant.

ghostrider-

No problem"O". You were right about gun control (just a little off target at 100 yrds. so "Unconstitutional Arms Infringement" now that is a much more accurate term, so thank you for your suggestion as I will be using it now! BTW I like that user name you got-How did you come by it? And like I said-I stand corrected.

Ghostrider is a Marvel Comics character as well as comic character from before my time, and I used to collect them. Since my job often involves driving caskets around I just put the two together.
