So today its in the high 30's and my boss says to me "Hey check to make sure theres no ice in the shaddy areas." and I like the dumb ass that I am go ok and walk out in the parking lot. Well I'm walking around saying to myself "Hey. All's well" and I see an area that looks icy. I say to myself "Self, lets check that area out and make sure it isn't icy". So I walk over and slip on my ass in front of a bunch of my co-works and they started to laugh. To make matters worse my neck is wet and I reach up to discover blood. I end up getting 4 stitches in my skull. Latter that day I come back to work to catch up on some paperwork and my boss tells me I should really be more careful. Now I'm typing this and my back hurts. Lesson learned? Yup. Next time one of my co-workers hurt themselves I'm going to point and laugh!

Did I mention that the ice had the shape of my Delica in it? Just damn.

Can you fill anything out for this? Workmans Comp etc. Can you get any documentation in case what happened today leads to chronic pain later on?

Aloha man!

Well that does indeed suck. Be praying for you buddy, and yeah, can't you claim for this one?

God bless

ABTW, screw them co-workers who laughed. Don't stoop to their level...next time a co-worker falls help 'em. There are TOO many idiots like them "look and laugh bunch" in this world, and besides, would you really wanna be like, *gulp*, your co-workers?!!! ;)

I agree with Daywalker, allways take the moral high road. Only stupid jerks think getting hurt is funny. Hope you feel better. Rob

Yeeesh! I fell once after one of our freezing rain episodes a couple of years ago. It's amazing how quickly one goes from a standing position to prone.

When I saw that we were going to go through a few days of the freeze-thaw cycle, I immediately threw de-icer on my walk and driveway. I've learned my lesson...

I agree with Senate, There are things ice is good for...Ice fishing, Hockey, Curling (OK not so much that), Bobsledding, Maple sugar on snow and numbing sore body parts after falling on your...um...Delica. We here in the northern climes deal with ice 5 months out of the year and just learn to live with it. In all seriousness, I hope you feel better and if I were you, I'd cash in some sick time for a few days and let someone else deal with the parking lot/ skating rink.

Falling down anywhere for any reason is not funny. Wonder why your coworkers laughed? Weird sence of "humor" for them.

Yep ice sucks! Hope you are doing better. We are having some very warm weather lately. Can't wait till it freezes, then we will have a mess on our hands:( Take Care!!

Feeling better now. More damage to my ego than my head. I work in a place that has 17k employees and I have to sometimes enforce some rules to prevent chaos and in doing so I've made some people mad. So when they saw me hit the deck they got their chance to point and laugh.
I did file a claim just incase I've screwed something up, but I'm doing well. To tell the truth, I was more woried about my Delica than my body! The good new was that I got babied by the cute mng. asst.(Cute Red Head) who held the ice on my head. I'm thinking about going out and hurting something else.
