Protecting Our Allies

China was ruled against by The Court at The Hague regarding their 9-Dash Line. Nonetheless they ignore the ruling and attack the Philippines on a regular basis over islands close to the Philippines.

China and Russia harass Japan. Chinese people have been going to Guam, which has a huge US Military presence and walking onto bases and been caught scoping out the jungles.

China has beefs with Taiwan, Vietnam, Brunei, Mariana Islands, Philippines, S.Korea and others. Eventually something is going to happen and China is getting ready to attack the US in every way imaginable.

I don't know if you know this but China, Russia, Iran, and N.Korea attack The West and Nordic countries computers 24x7x365 already. The FBI and many other security companies and govt orgs talk about these attacks.

As a Filipino, I appreciate that other people are aware of tensions in Southeast Asia.

I can't say more without turning this into a political post, so I will close with that.

I knew about the Philippines before 2000, but I did not know much about Filipino people and their American history.

I learned a bit about Filipino people by hanging out with them for 5 years while studying arnis, escrima and kali, in California and Illinois. I traveled to California in late 1999 and made my way up to Silicon Valley. I managed to meet a few Filipino martial artists there and then quite a few more in Stockton California. They were my instructors and people with similar interests. Filipino people are just like anyone else, they just want what is theirs, what they earned, and to be treated fairly.

I wish that more people knew how dangerous the situation is right now regarding China. I don't care how they come to understand what is happening, just that they get there.

This is a very political topic and we should probably refrain from discussing it here on the Spyderco forums.

I stayed out of the political end of it.

The hacking IS REAL and that is all that I'm talking about. Be aware people or your credit card data and identity will be gone.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but if MITRE, Microsoft and the CIA can be hacked there really isn't such a thing as a secure system.

There are _many_ Filipino-Americans. My mother was born in Manila and moved to the US at a young age (my grandfather was an American G.I. who was part of the US force that occupied the Philippines after WWII, and my grandmother was a Filipina).

The world seems a very dangerous place again, for sure. The success of any part of that axis will embolden the others.
