I just received 2 new samples.

Hi sal,

Thanks for sharing.

Would these happen to be variants of the Sage 5 LW, or perhaps brand new iterations :open-grin?

Can I get an amen?

Between these, new Caly variants, and the Bodacious I'm excited. So much more I'm sure.

Nuclear bombshell :exploding-head.

The Sage 5 LW is one of my favorite folders, especially within the small pocket knife arena. Can't wait to see what other lock y'all will be using; and I'm equally excited for the SPY27 and REX 121 variants of the 5 LW coming soon.

I know I had my fair spat at SPY27 a while back after being rather let-down from the performance of a first-run of the Native 5, but after picking up both a SS Mule, and the UKPK in SPY27, it has become a staple steel for my carry. Too, the Maxamet coming out of Taichung is exceptional, and is ready to see a contender step into the ring in REX 121.

Thanx again sal.

I'd be super interested in Spyderco's take on a crossbar lock as well as Snecx's Superlock.
So many knives, so few pockets... :)

Nice collection, toneyc.

That’s all the 11 released.

Two more coming:

— Sage5 Lightweight CPM-REX121 Burnt Orange FRN C123PBOR (Taiwan) - Amsterdam Meet (FEB 2024)
— Sage5 Lightweight CPM-SPY27 Cobalt Blue FRN C123PCBL (Taiwan) - SHOT Show (JAN 2024)
I'll be checking in regularly for the new models.

I’m thinking particularly of the Sage2, which, IMO, needs a steel insert on the titanium lockbar so the knife can be a user without worry about wear on the lockbar. The wear on mine is almost 100%.
I wouldn't disagree about bringing back the Sage 2 with a steel insert. My daily carry is a Sage 2 but I have not had any wear on the lockbar at all and I've been carrying this knife since it's release in 2011.

If we're talking wish list, Sage2 CRK ceramic interface 10v or MC would be my grail :)

LOL! I have all of them except the Black FRN LW and DLC M4 LW. I'm sure I'll end up with a couple more LWs at some point but don't feel the need to have all of them

I should admit that the use of my Sage2 has included much opening and closing with resulting clicks both pacing and soothing me, like a metronome, while in deep thought about a book I have been writing since forever.

Resistance to that source of lockbar-wear was surely not built into the original design. A CQI steel-insert would permit me to continue using a new Sage2 also as a pacifier, as other Spydies have done for me without noticeable wear.

Steel lock inserts are quite possibly the most overrated knife feature lol

Hi Araneae,

So, by the Crossbar lock. I guess you mean the Axis? Tell me more about the Snecx Tan Superlock?

Hey Nick, I was trying to message you last year about something but lost your contact. I don’t remember what it was, hah, but hit me up anyway one day. If you don’t have my number DM me on here.
