Hi guys.

Since i love customizing my knives and i was wondering where do you all get those custom pocketclips and other colour screws?

I did find some on etsy but the site gives me some reason a bit of a fishy vibe. Any one on the forum with good buy experiences from that site here?

I really can't say, I don't think I've ever bought anything aftermarket for my knives but I've ordered a bunch of random things off Etsy. I just use PayPal and haven't had an issue yet. I think most people on there are scared to death about getting bad reviews so they're mostly legit.

For parts check out flytanium

For clips MXG or Lynch Northwest

If you want customized scales, look on Instagram… lots of guys making really cool scales.

Hope you find what you need.

Bladeswelove on eBay has a huge selection of hardware.

Etsy is fine, as a whole, but it can be like navigating a minefield to avoid all the sellers just marking up low-quality imported hardware.

Hi there...

Im making scales for knives, mostly straightrazors but im looking into the spyderco lineup too, so I got a few knives and came upon a few obstacles..

In my native 5 FRN there are small inserts for the screws, does anyone know where I can find those ?

Thanks guys, but I didnt find any small inserts for my carbonfiber scales so I just have to redo the whole knife instead to incorporate my own scales.

The hard part is to find the hardware that is small enough :zipper :zipper

They're called "threaded inserts," and for the Native 5 (and most US and Japanese models) they're 2-56 thread.

These would work as replacements:

That's pretty cool. I assumed that the inserts were set in the mold, and the plastic injected around them. The description on the McMaster site suggests that the inserts are heated, and then pushed into the otherwise finished scale. That makes a bit more sense.

Yeah I knew the name of them but it was the size I was more fond of knowing. :)
Thanks a lot for the help :)
