Re: Help pick a full serrated knife
Some may disagree, I think the serrated Pacific Salt is the best Saturday work in the yard pocket chainsaw you can put in your pants...or shorts!
So if it's that good on Saturday, just imagine how good the other six days will be!
You really can't go wrong with any on your list.

Re: Help pick a full serrated knife
Hard to go wrong with the SE Pacific Salt 2 in either H1 or LC200N.
Re: Help pick a full serrated knife
I don’t own any of the options on your list, but will offer up an unsolicited addition to the list:
Tenacious LW full SE! This knife has been in my pocket at work every day for about 8 months now. It’s been fantastic, has a ton of edge length in a package that isn’t too long and manageable weight. Cost is very manageable as well. Fit and finish is every bit as good as my Golden knives and better than the couple of Seki knives I own. If the full SE s35vn option ever comes to fruition in the future, it will probably be the last (couple) of knives I purchase for home use!

Re: Help pick a full serrated knife
out of these choices, i'd 100% go with a se h1 pac salt. it's a really great knife that's robust and still lightweight. mine comes with me any time i'm in the water and/or working out.
keep your knife sharp and your focus sharper.

Pac salt 1 (usually available on eBay)
Followed by LC200N Salt 2
I just don't find the Pac Salt 2 comfortable.

Re: Help pick a full serrated knife
Although not mentioned in your list, I've found serrated 8Cr13MoV to work very very well. If you don't need the corrosion resistance of H1, you could probably buy 4 serrated Byrds for the price of one Seki H1.
Re: Help pick a full serrated knife
Of that list I would go with the Pacific or maybe the wharnie Endura.
Other suggestions would be a Caribbean which is more expensive but better IMO, or a Rock Jumper which is a bit smaller and less expensive.

Re: Help pick a full serrated knife
I have all of the ones OP listed so here is my take. The Pac Salt 2 packs a big punch, but can be big in pocket. The Salt 2 & Native 5 LW Salt are much more pocketable. Anything in VG10 should have better edge retention than the H1 models (some will disagree) so if that is more important to the end user, that would be the only reason to choose an Endura over a Pac Salt 2, IMO.

Pacific Salt, no brainer.
Re: Help pick a full serrated knife
I guess it depends on what size knife you want. I have 2 salt 2’s that are serrated wharncliffes and more pacific salts than I can count. So I say a wharncliffe serrated salt 2 AND a serrated pacific salt

Pac salt

Re: Help pick a full serrated knife
What will the knife mainly be used for?
If for general EDC and not for some special scenario I´d say:
First choice Pacific Salt 2 SE, if it is the LC200N (ffg) version - if you´re talking about the H1 version (sabre hollow grind) though, I´d go with then Salt 2 SE in LC200N (and ffg) before both the H1 Pac Salt and H1 Salt 2.
I´d not recommend (among these choices!!) the VG10 Endura SE, cause it has a sabre (non hollow) grind and rather aggressive serrations. If you´re talking wharnie Endura though (ffg and as far as I know mellower serrations): This one could even be my top choice.
Don´t get me wrong, nothing wrong at all with the H1 versions of Pac Salt and Salt 2!! I just think, especially for someone new to serrations, the "transition" from ffg PE to SE works better with an also ffg SE folder with rather mellow serrations.
Actually a great choice is the Endela SE, perhaps you can find one?: Sized between Endura and Delica (closer to the former), ffg and the best all purpose serration pattern I´ve ever tried. Perhaps only the Caribbean SE is even better there, from what I know.

Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):
- EDC: Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10); Wayne Goddard PE (4V), Endela SE (VG10)
-Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), and also Wayne Goddard PE (4V)

Don´t own one, but I guess you´re totally right!bjz wrote: ↑Mon Dec 13, 2021 10:14 amI don’t own any of the options on your list, but will offer up an unsolicited addition to the list:

I do own the S35VN PE Tenacious, it is of amazing fit and finish, has the very convenient linerlock, and I wish this one came in full SE.
But I guess when it comes to serrations, the 8CR of your version must be a great choice too ("better" than this steel would b in PE)

Well lately the trend seems to be that you ask for advice and then come back and blast everyone and claim that nobody uses their knives and they all live in a sock drawer. Hopefully this won't be a repeat of that.

Re: Help pick a full serrated knife
I own #1 and #4. I’m gonna play devils advocate and say the smaller knife is more versatile (I think someone else also stated this.)

Remember charisma can be found in 1)beer and 2)Spyderco throwing knives.
Now, intelligence is never found in the above combination.
