Salty Dodo

This undoubtedly has been mentioned before. However, I think it is a wonderful enough idea to merit it's own (or another) thread.

I think we need a salt Dodo!

A Dodo salt in SE would be a fantastic tool whether you are on the water or not. With a rust proof (lc200n) se blade and hardware, the dodo will be an absolutely fantastic user.

Also, marketing as a salt line tool rather than self defensive knife might give it a broader appeal.

I think this could be great if it could be made with a cbbl rather than a bbl. The ball can be a bit of a challenge to grip and unlock with dry hands, and I'd imagine it could be very tough with wet hands. A cbbl would give a lot more grip, imo.

I would grab two of them in a heartbeat. A Salt version of the Dodo in LC200N would be great IMO. They could even make the serrated version in H-1 of that would save them some money. Because H-1 has been proven to be a decent blade steel for serrated blades.

I would also think that a small Hawkbill and/or reverse S type blade would be extremely handy in marine type applications too. I would also love some type of a nuclear colored G-10 handle as well as a nice lanyard system for working around open water. You don't want the heartbreak of a knife like that going overboard. I've had that happen once and I swore it wouldn't happen again :o

Great suggestion to change to cbbl over bbl. Slick ceramic ball plus water equals oops your Dodo now belongs to Poseidon lol

This is where the Dodofly Salt comes in handy! They should be able to use the existing Dragonfly handle with it's awesome backlock and shove a Dodo shaped blade in there like they have done with the Hawkbill and Wharnie dflies! :D

Maybe I'm greedy, but I want a salt dodo and a salt dodofly!
Also maybe a lil' matriarch salt.

I feel the ego's of the dodo make it a more capable work knife, while the dodofly will be more pocket friendly.

I personally don't struggle with the bbl, but I wouldn't mind a cbbl lock on the dodo! As long as that salt dodo is in SE!

Down for a SE for sure especially if they make it cbbl. I'd buy a dodofly as well.

P.S. is it bad that I pronounce dodofly as dewdewfly in my head even though I know it should be doedoefly? It feels wrong.

I’ve never had a Dodo before, it it looks like it would make a great Salt. I’m not sure how a CBBL would work in a knife used around or under water, though.

After carrying both my manix and dodo this weekend, I've decided I'd definitely rather stick with the bbl on the dodo. It's just easier to operate one-handed for me. I don't like having to use two fingers to pinch the cbbl on my manix.

I'm sorry, but when I read this thread title I just had to laugh. ;)
