Someone told me they are afraid that at some point in the future of the human race, because of some type of engineered viral plagues, people will succeed in making either of these:
1 A monster virus that is unstoppable and which cannot be stopped by any natural or human counter-tactic, and, succeeds in wiping everyone out or most humans out.
2 Some form of natural or engineered virus that somehow rewrites human DNA and makes people into raging monsters like zombies or transforms them into vampire like creatures.
3 A nanotechnology based "gray goo" that is programmed to make copies of itself, and "eats" the whole world, like a technological blob.
What are your thoughts on this fear everyone? How realistic are these scenarious?
The person told me the only thing scarier than that is an artificial intelligence gone out of human control.

Looking at the list of odds and considering I've already personal been fighting a deadly disease. ..not worried about it in the least! That's just me though. ..Hollywood loves that stuff!

We're already in a zombie apocalypse. You think those are rational, thinking, educated human beings you see everywhere? At best they're NPC, non playable characters, at worst they're zombies. How many people do you meet every day that can handle truth about how things are? How many people would rob you blind and take the very food out of your kids' mouths just to have a bigger TV or nicer car?
They who dance are thought mad by those who do not hear the music.
