Supportive girlfiends

My boyfriend is addicted to Spyderco and that's okay..for the longest time he carefully tried to recruit me..😊 I'm a hard sale. Anyway I don't have a problem with knives whatsoever. We just look for different things. For him it's this and that about the steel...boring😕., what colors do they have 😍.. that's me..my point is everyone should carry something and support each other in whatever is most important. Meaning color means most to me so I leave it to him to find quality color knives.. does that make sense

Welcome, L.O.S.T.! Makes perfect sense to me. I like colorful knives, too. :)

(with apologies for the non-Byrd content)

Fortunately, Spyderco has lots of colorful knives that are guaranteed to be good quality, including some colorful Byrd models on the way.

My boyfriend tried for a while to get me to buy a knife before just gifting one to me. I have a purple Delica 4 and a blacked out Robin now with a dragonfly in the mail. The great thing about Spyderco is the colour options. If you want something small but that will get the job done I'd suggest a Robin. If size isn't an issue the purple look great, not that the Delica is a big knife but it doesn't fit into most pockets on women's pants. Colour is important, I totally agree. I'm picky about the colour too. Your boyfriend I'm sure will do a great job at picking the right knife for you.

Hi Knifemom,

Welcome to our forum

Color catches the eye first. Ergonomics make a difference. As interest grows, knowledge grows. Before you know it, your asking how Nitrogen steels work to avoid rust. The more you learn, the better Spyderco looks.

Hope you have fun here.

Thank you Sal. The more I show interest the more my boyfriend dives deeper into his endless well of Spyderco knowledge. I know steel types now and am starting to remember the pros and cons of them.
I enjoy learning new things so I'm sure I'll have fun.

My wife's pretty supportive of my collection. I buy her stuffed toys and make-up products, she buys me knives, model kits and uniforms, so that's a pretty fair deal if you ask me.

Sounds good to me! My girlfriend is also all about color...the color Green! It has to be green if she's going to carry it!

I'm a man, an old geezer at that, and i have to confess that if the aestehetics (color, materials shape etc.) don't appeal to me i generally don't bother.
Being a 'desk jockey' who only casually actually use a knife, i could live the rest of my life with VG10 or up.
There, i said it :)
