Dream knife

#1

Post by spyderwolf »

Lets dream about our perfect knife, because we know with Spyderco dreams do came true, sometimes. It has to be a knife Spyderco never produced.
Mine will be an XL fixed blade Dragonfly.Roughly the size of a Mule, with a bit slender, ffg blade, full tang, same handle ergos as the folder,S30V steel, cobalt blue micarta scales.A brown leather sheat with a dragonfly stamped on it,set for horizontal carry.
Whenever there is any doubt, there is no doubt.

Plain titanium Endura with Cruwear/3V/4V at rc 62-3 for $200 or less. :) That's a knife I can retire with in style.

Maybe a 10v Manix back lock at rc 63.

That's a hard question but I'd love a knife to replace my much missed Gerber Pixie.

Nothing fancy, something like 1/16" x 7/16", parallel stock VG-10 at least for the blade, FRN handle (not black) and light kydex sheath.

I wouldn't turn my nose up at a drop point version of the Sprig with thinner stock Maxamet and red or burgundy micarta handle either.

A chopper.

In the Spyderco showroom they have 4 bladesports knives from competitors they have sponsored. I was able to handle them all. Why don't we have a production version of any of them? The chopper market is huge right now. The Darn Dao looks great but seems to be geared more towards collectors. I like big knives around a pound with 9-10 inch blades.

Ed's knife is a kukri like knife and Gayle's knife (if I am remembering the right one) was a large Bowie in M4. Yes please!!!!

I would buy a production version of Gayle Bradleys knife or Ed Schempp's knife. I have a Schempp Rock and for me it is just too small for a kukri and the handle tears me up when trying to chop. I cannot handle much texture on a chopper handle.

Now you are talking my language, especially with the back lock Millie. I have dreamed of this knife for years.

Chaparral in s110v or Maxamet would do for me. CF or RN scales to keep the price down. :)

Basically a production Delica 4 Li'l Para compression lock with green, blue or black G10 scales and S90V. Then the same in blurple/S110V. Both with a deep-carry clip similar to the Casey Lynch design.

And bh49's CBBL Li'l Native sounds cool, as does the SpydieChef XL.
Wishlist: Delica 4 FFG VG10, Manix 2 LW XHP, Military 204P and S110V, Para 3 Cruwear and S110V, Paramilitary 2 (all versions), SpydieChef LC200N, Caribbean PE and Sheepsfoot SE

Procured: Caly 3.5 VG10, Dragonfly 2 LW VG10, Manix 2 XL S30V, Native 5 LW S110V, Para 3 S30V, Paramilitary 2 S110V

I agree on the linerless contoured CF but make it a mini-manix with a blade around 2.5" and torx construction.. Oh and either a stonewashed XHP blade, or DLC the M4!

I have my dream knife: mantra 1 with no flipper tab

If I could have some wishes come true:
1. Sprig/southfork K390 sprints
2. Delica/Dfly M4 sprints
3. Junction M4 or K390 sprint
-Spencer

Rotation:
Gayle Bradley 2 | Mantra 1 | Watu | Chaparral 1 | Dragonfly 2 Salt SE
