Caly in HAP40?

#1

Post by toomzz »

Dear Spyderco crew, is there any chance that there will be a Caly 3 or 3.5 sprint in (laminated) Hap40 like the Superblue sprint-serie?
Or is that wishful thinking (still quality issues with the Caly-manufacturer?)?
(Got my Stretch hap40 yesterday, awesome steel, thanks for offering us another opportunity to try-out another exotic steel; happy! :p )
Thanks, Tomas

OH man, this would be amazing! Would also be interesting to see if it was solid (rather than laminated) like the SB Caly.

I think that would probably fly off the shelves.

I believe I've heard they are working out a few kinks with the moki factory right now. It seems for the moment that a seki design might have a better chance of seeing a hap40 run? That is just my impression based on what i've read around here.

I would vote for something thin and slicey. I really like the way the steel performs in the thin Delica. I'd also be down for a nice kitchen knife in laminated hap40.

I'm definitely in for this, both the 3 and 3.5. The kitchen knives :D would also be great.

Awesome. I'd also say this means we will not be getting the caly in the CS exclusive.

Excellent. I guess I was way off base. Either that or the kinks have been worked out. :D Either way, I would love to have a caly 3 in hap40!! I don't really care if it is solid or laminated. Patinas are cool and all but for me, this steel is all about performance.

I love the Caly family but I had little luck with my Caly3.5's.All of them had vertical blade play right from the factory.I just hope the new iteration will have the new improved lock back.

I would LOVE a Caly3 in HAP40 and I would also pick up a Kiwi4 in Hap40 if that was made too.
