Yeah, after weighting the pros and cons I decided against the Ti versions and am happy with my cf.

Is the CF version the lightest? I'd also like to see another version. When it was released, I thought it was advertised as a model that would be updated and changed (scales) annually. Very disappointing.

I have all of the different versions so far and for me it is hard to pick a favorite. Some days I carry the CF, some days the blue stepped Ti, or one of the others. Each version seems to have its own "personality" and I love them all. The CF is light weight and easy to carry, but the Ti versions have a nice solid feel to them that I like too.
It will interesting to see what the next version of the Chap will be. I'm ready for it anytime. ;)

The cf version is cheaper and wears better. I like the looks of a well worn knife but titanium just scratches too easily. Plus, I have a few Ti knives and the market is flooded with Ti. I am hoping to see some different and alternative options on this knife. The idea behind the chap is to showcase one knife with many different and unique handle materials. All we have seen so far is cf and Ti which are neither unique or different. If anything they are ubiquitous. Unfortunately it seems some of these materials are proving challenging. I love my CF Chap but will be holding off until something like the bronze or sheep horn comes to fruition. I would also like to see a bolstered version. I am patient. :)

Jet.com has them for $76 after coupon code 20now. Free shipping, no tax. Fulfilled by Redsgear.com. I just bought a backup... It really is perfection, and spends more time in my pocket during the week for office carry than any other.

Walmart does, for sure. Plus you can do ship to store and pay nothing...that is if you live close to a Walmart.

I have so far resisted the temptation of inflicting this upon you.
But I am having a moment of weakness; Image so this is a repost of my poem about the Chaparral.

:o My apologies in advance.

Living with the :spyder: Chaparral.

In my left pocket, it replaced the Sage.
It was a desperate attempt to quail the rage.

Of all these nonsensical fools.
That don’t get; that knives are simply tools.

In no way are they a fret to their life.
They are not carried to cause mischief and strive.

Though the Sage was used sensibly and with restrain.
“That looks dangerous!”…. was the usual refrain.

So I was some what heavy of heart.
Knowing my beloved Sage and I must sadly part.

In to my left pocket went this minuscule Chaparral.
Will it be up to the task? Only time would tell.

As packages were opened and apples and bananas were peeled.
The qualities of this small gem were slowly revealed.

Though the Para-military was there for any heavier task.
The Chaparral seemed willing and capable of doing all I would ask.

In fact; sometimes it seemed somewhat overly keen.
And sometimes perhaps even a little nasty and mean.

Cutting like laser and with a somewhat obsessive need to cut.
After opening it, I had to cut something or it seemed relucent to shut.

I under estimated this little knife’s capabilities by a dam mile.
The more I push it, the more it excels and it makes me smile.

How can this little knife be so resilient and strong?
Mate! Get one of these little knives, can you not go wrong.

Sal? By what technology, metallurgy, magic or spell?
Enabled you to create this knife you called the Chaparral?

Well...I went to lightly sharpen mine and expose a little new steel before I put it into use, and found....

...that the factory grinds are extremely uneven between sides. One side is pretty close to 15 (a little more actually) but the other is larger than 20! In other words, the 40 degree Sharpmaker setting doesn't even reach the apex on one side, and the 30 doesn't reach the apex on either.

I'm forced to re-profile if I want to use the sharpening product made by the same company that makes the knife.

Second time in my limited Spyderco experience that the grinds have been grossly off. That's 2 out of the 4 plain edges I own.

Not exactly pocket "perfection" for me. Bummed.

My blade grind was perfect. The metal edges were a bit sharp but that took about 30 seconds with a Blade Medic to fix. The design of the knife is the cat's pajamas.

I only own the CF version, mostly due to cost restrictions on my end.
