Does anybody have any experience with the Hanwei Practical Katanas. Just starting out (like the op) and have been on the fence for awhile.

Any input would be appreciated. Primarily will be hung on a wall but would love to do some practice cutting when I can get a safe set-up going.

Sorry for the hijack but thought it was relevant to the main discussion.

I would look into a practical plus katana. The one I bought was well made & can be taken apart for sharpening & any work you might do. The practical can't be taken apart, at least that's my understanding of the assembly (glued handle). Amazon has the plus for $259, just checked. You might find a better deal somewhere else.

Thanks for the feedback noseoil. That is what I have been reading, the practical "plus" would be the way to go.
