Ever since I seen Surfingringos thread on the Pacific blade regrind viewtopic.php?f=2&t=63261 I've wanted a Salt 1 in Black FRN but with PLAIN EDGE.

I love my Enduras but the Delica is the "if I could only have 1" knife. And even though I normally much prefer black blade finishes as on the current PE Salt 1, since I am planning from the start on the regrind, I DIDN'T want a blade finish.

These are rare now and more expensive if you DO find them (the black FRN PE Salt 1 with natural blade finish). I can find bunches of SE natural, and bunches of BLACK blade models, and bunches of PE natural YELLOW :eek: scale models, but NOT the natural/PE/black FRN. And OF COURSE, these were discontinued.

I finally found one on a well known Spyderco dealer website that NORMALLY was pretty high (I wouldn't have paid that price) but for now on sale for $60.

Boom. I nailed it. The shipping was a little steep ($13) but it'll be worth it on the long run.

So maybe after the mod, I'll have my "gym shorts" knife and ultralight hiking knife!
