Interesting looking crane. I'm assuming that at some point you've thought about being careful :)
It's a neat picker. We prefer knuckle boom pickers to stiff boom cranes for a number of reasons, such as versatility and deck space. That one also has a winch on it too so we can use it like you would a stiff boom for the odd situation where that is more practical. It's an awesome picker to run...I like the truck a lot too. It's a 2007 Western Star with a 515 horsepower Detroit Series 60. We also have another Western Star (2013) that is VERY similarly outfitted (50 ton knuckle boom instead of 44) with a 500 horsepower Cummins. I prefer the Detroit myself.

And we're always tied off with proper fall arrest gear above 10 feet height per regulations...kind of ironic given that with a 6 foot safety lanyard that stretches 6 feet to absorb the fall, you'd still impact the ground unless above 12 feet (Depending on where your lanyard is attached...if it's at your feet you'll fall 6 feet plus the height to your shoulder blades where the lanyard attaches to you. The short answer to your question is: Yes we're careful and take safety very seriously.

Elmax PM2. Still wouldn't call myself a PM2 person, but never say never--they're very handy little knives and tend to grow on you.

New Cruwear Manix with Putman scales and deep carry clip. It lost its factory edge yesterday, now it's ready to be carried!
