Favorite Carry Knife?
Favorite Carry Knife?
Hey all, this is my first thread! This has probably been asked many times before, but what are your favorite carry knives? Favorite handle materials, blade steel, things like that. I myself love my Manix 2 XL.

Welcome to Spyderville :) You are just beginning>> you wille eventually be looking at an EDC (every day carry) like a piece of fine art. Soon just an ordinary Delica or Endura just won't do anymore. I know I went through that "Rite Of Passage" my own self :D
At this time I'm carrying a C-60 Ayoob G-10 model for my main EDC, Then I have a Harpy for my companion Hawkbill blade and for specialized work I've been toting my C-111 Captain model. Usually I carry 2 but here lately I've been carrying 3 folders a day to get all my daily work done.
It won't be too long you'll be checking out the higher end models yourself.

My primary EDC is a Stretch, although that gets replaced by a Chaparral if I'm headed downtown where there's a 3" blade limit. Either way, there's always a Kiwi in my watch pocket and a Jester on my key ring. Favorite handle materials are natural ones, wood, stag, bone, and ivory.

Currently I am loving the Gayle Bradley Air or Kiwi (watch pocket) and the Southard or Caly Jr.
I rotate thru my collection, however I think the Paramilitary 1 in D2 is one of my top 3 along with the Manix 2 and one of the two clip models above.

99% of the time I have a Para2 on me (have several of them which allows me to rotate them in daily carry).
Also I carry a smaller blade as a secondary knife (more friendly to non-knife folks) which usually consists of either a Chaparral, a Dragonfly2 G10 or a Ladybug3 Salt Hawkbill (there are some other small non-Spydercos that get some pocket time too occassionally as secondaries, but one of these three small Spydies gets the call 85% of the time).
And I also almost always have a Leatherman Juice S2 multi-tool on me. It also has a blade on it, so that would make it my tertiary knife I guess, but frankly I carry the Leatherman for the multi-tool aspect, not the knife aspect. I rarely use its blade unless I have a particularly unsavory job to do with a knife blade and that I would fear using a good knife for (ie, high potential for damage)... which is rare.

Apparently, arachnophobia is not a condition from which I suffer.... :spyder:
