Where are the Yojimbo 2s?

#1

Post by RatDralX »

I've been looking to order a pair of Yojimbo 2s for the last few months and still can't find any.

Have these been discontinued?

Does anyone know where I could get one?

Join the club :) The first batch has been sold out for months and there are still a lot of pre-orders to filled as well. From what I gather , the Yojimbo 2 is just in really high demand and the supply can't keep up with demand (for now at least). Hopefully sometime soon there will be a healthy supply of Yojimbo 2's at most of the good knife sites. I have heard ETA's anywhere from March-May.

Welcome RatDrall. What they said. Hopefully a second batch will hit the market somtime soon.
I have one, but it is lonely for a companion of its own kind. The problem though is that many
are already spoken for on preorder lists.

I agree that it is a conspiracy. In fact rumor has it that Oliver North is working on a movie
with Kevin Costner as Michael Janich.

They are just selling like hot cakes and the staff at Spyderco is not Santa's elvish assembly line.

Discontinued 2 months after release?

Absolutely not.

Production of the Yo2 is scheduled to resume again very soon. Based on the projected numbers and schedule, I am very confident that we will be able to satisfy existing backorders and hit a comfortable "stride" to ensure consistent availability.

Our US factory does an exceptional job of balancing production of our American-made products. With that said, it is a balancing act. Please be patient. Good things come to "Yo's" who wait...

Stay safe,

That one will go straight to the $5.00 bargain DVD bin at Wal-Mart... and still be overpriced!

Thanks for chiming in Mike. I had no doubt they were still in production.

That was just confusion on behalf of the OP's question.

I am patiently awaiting this one as well :) The yo2 and the tuff are the two I really want this year. Unrelated side note -- if you don't have the lightweight manix, get in line for it. I love it.

I heard that there was a Yojimbo 2 found at the top of the grassy knoll.
It must have fell out of someone's pocket that got an early pre-order
from CS. It almost seems like I have been waiting since 1963 for the
second batch to come out.

Good things to come for yo's that wait. lol, perhaps a vacation is a good idea.

Actually Bruce Willis was the top pick but was busy with another movie.
Clooney, Damon, Crowe, Hanks Cruise etc, none of them could pull
off the fast knife moves. Jackie Chan was the closest was insisted on
using a samurai rather than a Yojimbo.

Glad that the designer (Michael Janich) chimed in. Also glad to hear that they will eventually get some more out. Whatever they do, don't rush the product out and sacrifice quality. I'm a patient guy. Thanks Michael, I feel better now.

Thanks for the response!

I think I'm traumatized from when Spyderco discontinued the Lava, and got VERY concerned because they've been sold out of the Yojimbo 2 for so long.

Congratulations on designing such a popular blade! It's great when a Kalisto's design goes mainstream :)

I sold my yo2. Hopefully, they'lll make a dlc coated one with m4, 3v or some other tough steel.
Something about s30v and I just don't get along.
Maybe even a black ronin 2....wishing.

Come on Mike press the buttons. Tell us what kind of Scotch Sal likes and I'll start a collection. ;)
