Looks great! How do you do an acid bath?

When you sharpen that now, Newtron, the shiny edge with the blackwash will look awesome!

Thanks guys,

@Jack - This was done with a Ferric Chloride acid bath. About 50/50 with distilled water. Soak for 40ish minutes before rinsing. Allow to air dry without touching the blade.

@Jazz - Thats the plan. Throw it on the WE and bring out a spooky edge. :D I

@ Nasgul - Funny story. I actually tried... You might be able to see the weird dots and pock marks on the liners. For some reason the acid didn't react well with the liners. I've done a persistance the other day which turned out way better on the liners. Weird mystery...

Nice work. I even like the leather FOB. :) It looks good the way the leather isn't twisted. A small thing yet it makes it much more attractive. Great work on the blade.

I am done with the Worker sprint bocote wood scales. I'm happy with it. I think I'd be happier if I hadn't made the blunder with my bench sander sanding the tops of the screw heads flat. I left the clip screws alone for now. I'm just happy I didn't sand them enough for the torx tips to not get a grip in them. I did learn however, you can sand the screw heads so they have a flush with the scales look and feel.

I'm pretty happy with this. Especially since it was my first set of wood scales. Not to mention I can now put it back in my pocket. I almost re-assembled it with the original scales once I saw it was taking so long to dry. I didn't though. I figured it was a good opportunity to give good ole' Michael Walker some use.

The polyurethane gives the handle a very good (almost tacky feeling) grip. I really like that. It comes in and out of the pocket easy also. I don't see it wearing the pocket seam now like the textured G-10 does over time.

Real nice. That's a mod I've yet to attempt. Thanks for sharing, Jack.

Here are some of my modded Spydercos (the first three I recently gave up, but the rest I've still got):

Just to be clear, the modding was not done by me on any of these.
