Delica puts up a good fight because it's been around for so many years, but I have to go with the Lava! Aside from being a kicka** knife with big power and great ergos, it tells a lot about how open minded :spyder: is

CF BG42 Military-PE, or Ti ATR-PE, or E4-BRG ZDP PE, lastly CF Caly 3 in either VG10 or laminated ZDP. I honestly can't decide between them and I'm glad I have all of them. I could easily pick several more like the stretch, R2, and Manix. Spyderco has created too many great classics for me to pick just one. Joe

It's not my favorite at the moment, it doesn't have the best finishing in the world and it doesn't use any fancy materials but... I'd have to say the Dodo. It's such a good all around utility knife that's legal to carry most anywhere and cut like a knife at least twice it's size. The hand is to date the most comfortable I've held. It's a shame it was disco'd.

The best of both worlds >> both cutting worlds that is>> The C-44 big Dyad > anyone disagree?

I can't understand why this knife doesn't have anymore following that what it has  . You do literally have 2 premium, full sized blades in one great, solid built folder. It's one of the few Spyders that I keep more than 2 BACK UP UNITS for.

A distant second to that one would be the Military model. It's just an all around great, super dependable, get you out of pinch type knife.

Also the JD Smith is becoming more and more appreciated.

Gotta be the D4. Not the biggest. Not the strongest. Not the most well-finished. Not the most innovative. Not the most ergonomic. But,...it probably best crosses the largest variety of needs for the largest # of users with its size, number of variations in blade configurations and handle materials and PRICE all in one knife. To me, that says the best. It's not even my favourite, but it would lilkely be the one in my pocket if I could only have one knife to do everything I do from work to play and everything in between without raising eyebrows while still getting the job done.

Just one ? Torture ! Like JD the C44 Dyad would have to be my first choice based on a knife able to do many tasks with two blades . I also have to agree with Mastiff my Ti ATR and BRG E4 PE in ZDP189 are other examples that find a way into my pocket and admire their workmanship . Regards MG2

All IMHO, of course

D'allara DP

-incredible feeling ergos
-useful blade shape
-the blade is not too long, and not too short
-Vg-10 is great stuff
-bank vault tight lock-up
-wire clip rocks

What more could a person ask for? :D
