Question for Salt I owners

#1

Post by thombrogan »

How is the Salt I working out for you? Do you prefer the Spyderedge or the plain-edged version?

Thanks in advance,

Thom

It's a neat knife that I bought to carry on the water. Blunted, "Rescue-like" point. I bought a PE. I especially like the Delica size with the easy to open "Millie-size" Spydie hole.

Since I'm looking at trading for a Salt 1, I thought I'd bring this post back up to see if maybe I can get some comments from any of you who might have a Salt 1. Is it a good knife? IS this H-1 blade-steel any good?

Glockman99,

You'll be a new Salt I owner soon. Please tell me how they do.

The Salt is a fantastic knife. We've had no negative comments from customers.

Spyderco's sharpness and edge retention tests have proved the H1 to be excellent. And,they found the serrated blade exceeds the plain blade for edge retention.

I have been using mine for a couple months now and REALLY like it. It has completely replaced the Delica in my EDC rotation. I have not had any problems with edgeholding, just a touchup now and then on the sharpmaker x-fine stones and it cuts like crazy.
