I wasn’t sure about SprintRuns with an S. The clue seemed to indicate singular. I don’t think Flash Batch fit the other direction.
This was my same dilemma, I’m glad I wasn’t the only one!

Yeah, the Sprint Run one was hard. I went with the illegal space. The clue seemed to rule out a plural. Maybe the answers will be revealed…!

i had a hard time putting the "s" on the end of mine because of the grammar in the clue also. i just held my nose and did it anyway.

I went with SprintRuns. No spaces in crossword puzzles right? And I've never seen it spelled Sprint-Run. Always Sprint Run. Regardless a fun puzzle. Congrats to the winners who ever they are.

If I recall correctly based on the question, the answer actually WAS “FlashBatch” but it just didn’t align with the rest of the crossword puzzle. The incorrect option, “Sprint Run,” did happen to fit though.

I just put a space between “Sprint Run.” The way I see it is that it wasn’t a mistake on our end, so a dash, a space, or an “s” should all be acceptable, in my opinion.

I no longer remember the wording or my reasoning, but at the time I concluded that “SprintRuns” was the correct or best answer over “Flashbatch”, “Sprint run”, or “Sprint-run”.

The way I interpreted it was "Sprintruns are..." instead of "a Sprintrun is..." It makes perfect sense that way. I don't think there are usually dashes in crossword puzzles.

According to the glossary in the Edge-U-Cation section of the website the definition of a Sprint Run matches exactly...

Sprint Run™
A limited, one-time-only production of a specific knife design or variant. Production quantities of sprint runs are limited.

The definition of a Flash Batch isn't on the website that I could find but it is in the catalog.

I entered SprintRuns since the definition matched exactly

Thanks, I had a feeling I was misremembering exactly what the question had asked. Anyway a “Flash batch” is defined by Spyderco on their website as “a distinctive, one-time-only expression of a brand new design.”

None the less, I still believe all three variations of the answer “Sprint Run” should be acceptable. If not, it’s not the end of the world.

I have a difficult time believing that Spyderco is going to disqualify customers over SprintRuns, Sprint-Run, Sprint Run, or SprintRunTM. I suspect Spyderco's intent was to be inclusive, fun, and engaging -- not the grammar police.
