Spyderco Model: :spyder: Spyderco Paramilitary 2 S35VN Earth Brown


If I had one word to describe the Spyderco Paramilitary 2 it would be natural. Clean flowing organic lines that naturally shape the human hand. The lines of which remind me of the flowing organic topographic lines of the earth. One of my favorites in the family of Para 2’s is the Earth Brown S35VN, which sits in cut topographic like lines that surround the knife as if it were born from Earth.

If I put a photo up as a "place holder", can I change it before the contest ends if I end up with a better one? Anyone know?

You are allowed to change your submission as far as I know. You just need to have one final entry by the end of the contest.

^^correct -- many people have switched pics before the deadline; just don't forget and post a second one in a different place.

I haven't had a lot of opportunity to try for calendar worthy pics this year. After much deliberation I've decided to go with this one....for now. I'm still undecided on which pic to use. So I there's a good chance I'll submit a different one before the deadline.

SPYDERS ON MARS

This picture was taken at Grapevine Lake, TX in late January. I like how the color of the sandstone terrain kind of goes with the orange G10 scales on the knife. I also like the fact that a little spider happened along to photobomb the pic. It wasn't present in a few of the shots I took of this same set up.

The UKPK has become one of my favorite Spyderco models. The size and ergos are well-suited for my hand and I like the simplicity of the slip-joint.

Got hooked on Spyderco knives last August when I got the Tenacious; a perfect knife for outdoor summer carry. I've added a new Spyderco knife about every other month. When I get a new folder I like to make a commitment to carry it exclusivly for thirty days (but I always carry the Manbug too.)

I took this picture after I got a Byrd Cara Cara 2 and laid them all out on an Indian "tea table." Most recent get is a Byrd hawkbill and I think it will be a good subject to work into this composition.

Some of you folks have serious, legit photo skills. I have no anticipation of competing with you all, but will throw up a hack shot when I find the right one.

Ok, here's my submission...for now at least. This is the Spyderco Tusk with a several million dollar yacht in the background. The knife is mine, the yacht is not. The Tusk was the first Spyderco to use lc200n steel and was my first exposure to the steel. I knew from the results I saw in early testing with this knife that this steel was going to be an excellent edition to the Salt lineup.

I have been a Spyderco fan and collector for a very long time, and I have enjoyed seeing Spyderco continue to evolve and embrace cutting edge :cool: knife technologies. For me, when Spyderco released the Domino, a titanium flipper with a Reeve Integral Lock, in the exclusive blue weave carbon fiber, it literally stopped me cold the first time I saw it. I have never seen such a stunning handle scale before or since. This knife instantly became my most-carried pocketknife. Everything is perfect on this knife, and it exhibits how technically proficient yet aesthetically pleasing Spyderco knives are. I enjoy this exclusive model so much, I bought a second as a back-up in case I can't get them again. My picture exhibits both of my blue weave Domino's in a field of layered stone. Like these knives, these stones are solid and unbreakable, but layered and intricate.

Can't get enough of carrying and using these two knives, in one flavor or another.

I admire how one appears a scaled version of the other, yet different in many ways. I enjoy the seeming simplicity of their design, the elegance of each style. I appreciate the combination of light weight, durability, ergonomics, balance, locking mechanism, and steel options.

I love the outdoors. These are some of my favorite knives to take with me. And my favorites ones to use.

Spyderco Tasman Salt

The Tasman Salt was my first ever Spyderco, and it has spent far more time in my pocket than any other knife I've owned. Whilst the serrated hawkbill blade may look intimidating and highly specialised to the uninitiated, I have found it to be the perfect shape, size, and edge for nearly all of my EDC needs. I've been wracking my brain, on-and-off, for the past month, trying to think of what I should do for my contest pic this year... and then just now I noticed one of the leaves of our living room banana plant was dying and needed to be cut off. So I reached into my pocket and realised I had me a photo op!

I was looking for a good quality knife, of medium size, robust but not expensive. My choice has been a Endura 4. Besides having the quality I wanted. Endura 4 full flat blade have excellent cutting qualities and the color of Zome version I really appreciate.

Howdy folks. Longtime lurker, I joined the forum a few years back, never got around to posting. Well, this calendar contest has inspired me to get active on the forum finally, and throw my hat in the ring for the calendar contest.

FB33GP - Spyderco Serrata.

Ever since I got my first Serrata, I don't think I've carried another fixed blade for any outdoor activities. Serrata, meaning saw-like in Latin, is an apt description for the edge of the cast 440C blade. Hiking, camping, kayaking, whatever, I have yet to find a more useful cutting tool to take along. This is actually my second, as the first was borrowed by a friend, who took it on a trip to Chile, where it unfortunately did not return from. This shot was taken on a trail in the Beartown State Forest in Massachusetts that I try to hike once or twice a week, always with the Serrata strapped to my pack.

Can somebody please give me a step by step method to enable me to post my entry to the 2018 calendar. Pretend I'm completely ignorant to posting. Thank you.
