Same here, if only I had a good island full of coconuts to try it once I'll get it...

Looking good, will be a great blade, nice to finally check out 4V. :D

IIRC, you've got a preference for high-RC heat treating, Jim. How hard are they going to be able to run that steel at production volumes?

I don't know what Spyderco is going to end up with as far as HRC goes.

Will have to wait until it comes out and see.

WOW! Reminiscent of the older Hossom models but a much more updated with blade shape and steel. I can't wait. Gonna love me some 4V.

Spyderco will have to answer that one.

A very rough guess would be 6-7 months.

Hi everyone,
I have followed Jim Ankerson's posts on blades steels and knife edge retention for a long time. I've always been impressed with his practical, hands on approach that replaces untested theories with real world testing. I plan on ordering the Ankerson/Sanders Bowie knife as soon as it is available. What attracts me are the handle ergonomics, the thin blade to reduce resistance when slicing and the choice of CPM 4V for its many desirable properties.

I hope it's Kydex. I prefer Kydex for knives I plan to use.
