It is interesting that Spyderco seems to only use the Native for forums knives. i wonder why that is?

Not "only", not by a long shot. Up to now it's been 2 out of 7.

The number does seem to increase if you include forum knives for other forums, IMHO.

True, although also misleading because if you do that you have to count all the knives Spyderco has made for other forums and, when you do that, the percentage of forum models based on the Native goes down.

I feel a little ashamed for saying the Native was the only forum knife. I did some very quick searching and i got the impression that the Native was the only model for forum knives. After reading the wiki i quickly realize how wrong i was. :(

I think it's confirmed to be a native this year. Native 5 I think. One good thing about having a smaller collection is that almost any forum knife would also be a new model. :P Last I heard was early 2013. Just curious about what the Native will be. And especially since Sal, I think, mentioned something about Spyderco trying something new for this forum knife, hence the delay. I've got $75 in jars just waiting! :D

BH49 and I say S110V. Our reasoning is here: http://www.spyderco.com/forums/showthre ... highlight=
Our reason is quite satisfied, in 999 cases out of every 1000 of us, if we can find a few arguments that will do to recite in case our credulity is criticized by someone else. Our faith is faith in someone else's faith, and in the greatest matters this is most the case.

The counter-argument would be that S110V would make for a fairly expensive knife, and seems somewhat wasted on a "collectible" where most will never be used.

Your logic makes sense, but the little kid in me is still hoping for the S110V - I would like to play with it a bit.

Of cause this will be more expensive than previous Forum knife. But, some Forum knives were even more expensive. Some dealers already announced CF S110V with street price around $190. Subtract CF, add FRN and this will bring price to lower-mid hundred. People will die for a piece of S110V for this price. Of cause some became collectors and will not be used imitatively, the same as S90V mily and para2. Still this knife will be much less expensive than S110v CF model.
I am just saying that you never know. :)
