Pathetic Plea to Sal : Ladybug Hawkbill FFG Plain-edge ZDP-189 Sprint

#1

Post by Blerv »

Dear Sal,

I know this is firing on ALL cylinders of eccentric but would a sprint like this be economically feasible?

I’ve been dying to try a FFG thin hawkbill from Spyderco for some time. I adore my Superhawk and carry the VG10 serrated Ladybug Sprint often. If the Ladybug didn’t have the teeth I think it would be a more viable EDC for small tasks and appeal to a wider group of people. I think it would have a heckuva lot more bite per ounce than the standard drop-point assuming the user had any empathy for the thin hard tip.

Polls don’t seem very scientific but one is attached for fun.

Cheers,

Not for me. A regular SpyderEge ZDP-189 Ladybug however and I'll take at least two. Yeah yeah I know the SE would involve a lesser hardness and ultimately lose its advantage but hey.

That or come up with one with another super steel, say S90V or M4 :)

Make it available with that blue color the Endura 4 currently comes in, and you got a bomb.

I've said it about a dozen times, i'll buy at least 3 of them if he makes a wharncliffe Ladybug/Manbug. VG10 is fine too.

Yeah, what do we need with belly on a knife that small?

I voted for multiple as long as they come in BRG, Orange or maybe White FRN.

I'd have to see it. Can someone do a quick mock-up?

I'm in Blake, if it's CF. FRN - I'd have to think about it, but probably.

I know, right?? :(

Sal was teasing us with the idea of Ladybug sprints in another thread. I think it's a great idea. You can buy three of them and not have to sleep in the dog house for a week. :p

I voted that I'd buy one. I would like one.

It does seem like a good model.
