Small S90V knife?

#1

Post by toomzz »

I was thinking about that wonderful S90v/20CP. We have seen it sofar in the ' steelplatforms' Millie and PM and upcoming in the new Southfork.
So mainly larger knives. Is it an idea to present these wonderful steels in a smaller platform? I couldn't find an existing US-platform, or perhaps a slip-it?. Most other smaller Spydies are japanse or collaborations with custom knifemakers. Maybe time for a new collaboration in small new bladeform other than leafshaped in S90V/20CP?

I am really impressed and looking forward to that new Bradley. A special steel in a small collaborationknife with a couple of extra-extra's. M4 with glassfiber scales and ti-liners, bring it on! Bradley still rules!

Enlighten us and make us happy with those special steels!

Techno would be a great platform except with S90v it would be pushing well over $250. Shame they don't domestically make a small folder like the Ladybug or Jester but who knows, maybe something is in the works.

The Ladybug probably won't see Crucible or Carpenter steels due to it being of Japanese origin. You can get the FFG ZDP-189 version though for like $35 which is an amazing value.

The problem is that we have to exclude any Japanese made models. My ideal would be an up-steeled G-10 Dragonfly with one of the latest PM steels from CPM or CTS product lines. But since we're only looking at US or Taiwanese made models, I can only think of the Chaparral.

I just wish it would somehow be available in a production run knife like ZDP is now. :(

What's wrong with leafshape?
I would love to see Native in S90V/20CP/M390 with dark green G10 handle.

My top choices Natives5, Calys, C83 Persian

I have yet to own an S90V model but I'm fairly certain that I would enjoy a little big knife offering :)

Until then, I'm very much looking forward to the XHP Chaparral.

I would like to see a S90V Chaparral, I don't know what kind of scales would go on it or how expensive it would be.

Chapparelle would be perfect steel platform for me. I like the shape and size of it.
